Pho Dragon

This has become my go to stop it for Vietnamese in Tacoma. Popped in on a Friday night and got a table right away I was blown away by the prices, and even more amazed when the food came out. The Bun Bo Hue was fantastic (I was asked if I wanted the optional blood cake and pig feet. Of course I do) My date had the vermicelli bowl with shrimp and pork. She got that again went we went a few days later. I had the duck salad Whichis the perfect balance for a cold day. Cold salad, duck and hot soup. Will be back again and again.

This place has the best pho I have ever had in my life! The soup has very strong nutmeg taste so if you are not a fan of it you might not enjoy it as much as I do. They are very generous with the amount of good served. You can choose the size of the pho which is also a plus. It's definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. It's not very fancy but the food is what I care most about. Would definitely go back again if I ever pass by Tacoma.

My friend told me about this pho restaurant so I stopped by for a bowl. I ordered the Nam Vang Pho which is a Cambodian-style rice noodle with slices of liver, shrimp, and diced pork; pictured below, it was delicious. I like the fact that they offered a lot of fresh veggies. The service was great despite the place being understaffed. There is only street parking; note that as of June 2018 there're a lot of street and sidewalk construction with lots of traffic. I'll definitely return to try other dishes.

Updated: So went back recently, food still hasn't really changed to what I remembered. But this place needs to consider cleaning it up and get rid of what I think were roaches. Flies and ants, I can deal with that and is common among any restaurant really, but these roaches... Nah. That alone impacted me to where I felt I needed to change my score. *shivers. Originally posted (4 stars): The red marinade they use for their grilled pork for any of their dishes, including the sandwich, is good. Even if I don't order a sandwich, I will always order a dish with that grilled pork.

If you want a Genuine Authentic Pho Restaurant This is the place to go!!! The Pho Dragon's atmosphere was perfect... Being a Pescotarian I am picky about Seafood Pho.. This was perfect.. Matter of fact I ordered a Large and couldn't finish it.. There was so much fish, shrimp, fish balls, muscles and noodles... THE BEST I have had in a long time. We will never have to try to decide what place we are going for Pho.. We are now PHO DRAGON REGULARS. .. ;)

I would like to call myself a professional pho eater. I have been to most of the pho restaurants between Seattle and Olympia even a few in California. I feel that the dragon offers the best pho soup around. The restaurant is very authentic, rustic, and cosy. The owner is a very nice lady as well as the chef. The restaurant is in the Lincoln district of Tacoma but it adds charm and character that alot of places wish they had. I usually try to get there before lunch to avoid the crowds but I'm willing to wait for her pho for hours. This soup is life changing and once you try it you'll be hooked. Cheers!
