I have lived in takapuna most of my life, so have seen owners of that shop come and go. new young couple bought in last year or so, finally got around to trying snapper and chips and liked it, a lot. to make sure, went again tonight ordering for father and myself, and it we both agree, the guy makes a mean snapper and chips, and dad even had some of the banana fritter, which he initially mocked the idea of, lol.

Fast, fresh and great for the price. I ordered the Lunch Special #1 for $12 and got a great piece of fish in the burger that was very fresh, and freshly fried chips. It's a good amount for the price and it also comes with a drink. I would recommend.

Best fried fish I’ve had compared to all the other fish and chips shop. The fried Tarakihi is the way to go every time. The fries are mediocre but the fish makes up for it.

Fast efficient service & great food, we rocked up to... a line out the door and my wife said now what... what is you rock up to the counter place your order & only a few min later we're walking out with two fish one chips which is plenty for the two of us.

We tried TFS today with seeing it on the Fish and chips article, thoroughly enjoyed all we ordered snapper, seadog, scallops and potato fritters
All was perfect! Except for the smaller potatoes fritters I think they put in complimentary as they were not as good as the 2xbig ones I ordered, the smaller ones were not soft inside nor like the big ones so we didn't eat it ...but waste not we shared them to the birds
But everything else yum! Frankie loved the snapper biggy!

We have been regular customers at Takapuna Fish Shop in Lake Road, for well over 30 years. We live locally. It is convenient for us.
The new owners are performing well, providing good quality food, always freshly prepared
They are always helpful and reliable for telephone orders. I would recommend Takapuna Fish Shop, especially if you enjoy fish & chips on a summer evening, with sea breezes and sand between your toes on Takapuna Beach, it's not more than a couple of hundred or so metres away.

Normally my go-to takeaway fish and chips spot on my annual trips to Auckland. Went today at opening, but the hours changed. Waited the 30 minutes difference, and then another 20, but nobody was even prepping the store. Went to competitor around the corner and was very pleased.
