I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to review Sam's but I can honestly say this is the best restaurant that I have eaten at in Auckland. The food is fresh, wholesome and packed with flavour. Sam and his staff are always warm and accommodating. The seafood chowder, mixed grill, chicken and mushroom pasta, halloumi salad, lentil soup, Mediterranean chicken and Mousakka are amongst our favourites. They give a huge amount of hummus when you order the hummus and bread starter. The atmosphere is lovely and inviting. Nothing negative to say. Absolutely love Sam's and will continue eating here and trying out new items on the menu.

We love the food so much we went back the next day! You’ve never had chicken fall apart this way-it’s so tender. The service is timely and great. They’re really kind and their patrons are as well. The restaurant sits on a beautiful street full of shops and boutiques. It makes for a great date night out or bonding time with family.

Sam's Mediterranean Eatery is a hidden gem indeed! The food tastes incredibly fresh and amazing. I love that Sam cooks every item on the menu from scratch, ensuring top-notch quality. For the best experience, I recommend visiting on weekdays as weekends can get busy if you don’t have a reservation. Apple Tea was delicious.

Simple, flavourful and authentic - i’ve not been able to find a Mediterranean restaurant in Auckland that serves this level of quality. Lamb/beef/chicken were packed with flavour and grilled to perfection. Wheat and vegetables were a perfect match. Very pleased with the food and service, thank you.

MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN & MIXED GRILL - Recommended dishes. The Mediterranean chicken was realllly tender, hearty with the cream sauce and fulling with the rice-like grain that came with it. Served with a beautiful salad. The mixed grill had deliciously grilled lamb and chicken. Very filling portions. The server was AMAZING and was the reason why the higher price point was justified. For three people, two main dishes and one smaller dish made us feel full. Will be back again!

Dishes are large portion and taste so delicious. Clerks are so kind. When we were ordering, they told us that meals are large portion so we better have less if we weren't very hungry. Actually we had left some but they recommend us to take leftovers away. If you want to eat several kinds of vegetables, the Vegetarian Platter is a good choice. Chiken & Mushrooms contains pasta so you must be full.
