Chubby's Super Subs & Pizza

First time here today, heard the story on the news that they were closing and had to get a steak bomb so I could say I had one once. It was fantastic. Peppers and onions cooked completely, tons of meat, the salami adds a nice touch, soft bread, just the right amount of cheese. Too bad they are closing, the line was out the door, obviously it's a local favorite. Hopefully the new owners will keep some of the favorite items like the steak bomb.

High level pizza! The sauce tastes homemade with a hint of sweetness, the cheese is just the right amount and pairs so well with any toppings and the crust has a wonderful crunch to it. I've gone to Sally APizza and Frank Pepe's pizzerias in New Haven and Chubbys is on par with those famous locations 😋

Went on a Friday night, I'm from up North so it's difficult for my snobby taste buds to find a good cheesesteak. All I can say is WOW. Next tim I'm getting pizza and a cheesesteak. The atmosphere reminds me of home, the food, the radio... it's just all around the best. I'm taking my next date there for sure. Whenever I'm missing Jersey I'm going here for a couple slices.

UPDATED 12/19/2022 (at bottom) I hate having to call a place back because of petty stuff. And I hate to even post this because they were nice. But I waited 23 minutes for this $14 sandwich that I had been craving to try for months. I dont live locally. Finally. Today I made it in. Called ahead and yes. I arrived early. But it was me and 2 people in the restaurant. And a cold sandwich took 23 min. Add to that. I ordered a foot long Italian sub. It was so over saturated with oil the bread turned to mush. Had pickles which I don’t eat. And just broke 7”. Again. They were nice about it. But, like. As a customer who paid $14 and gave nearly half an hour of his life…? At least get it right. Especially since I told the lady it was my first time and I was super excited. The 2nd star is because they said they’d give me a credit next time. After one bite of this sandwich. I’ll be sure to get a pizza with that credit….. bad sandwich. Bad bread. And bread makes the wich! I had such high hopes. I’m posting this so they don’t think I made it up. Update: I went in again for the credit they offered. They were VERY nice about it. Very apologetic. And I ordered a pizza that is really good. I thank the staff and management for rectifying this. And have upped my stars.
