Mei's World Pizza And Salads Buffet

UPDATE: This place officially closes after Tuesday August 22nd, 2023 after 30+ years of business. The owners won’t sell the building yet; they are looking for tenants. Sad that lots of Chinese restaurants have closed post Covid, partially from college international students not coming back. Thank you for great Taiwanese food & pizza, Mei! Enjoy traveling!

Since I grew up in Taiwan, I'm very picky about finding authentic Chinese food. And when I saw "Taiwanese sausage" on this menu, I got very happy! This delicious food takes me right back to my Taiwan childhood and I eat here as often as I can. Ms. Mei is a generous, sweet lady and it's fun to chat with her in Mandarin. Her food is the best Taiwanese food I've had in decades!

I wanted to try something different, so I gave Mei's World a chance. First time ever trying a Kung Pao Chicken Pizza. It was unique and delicious. They also have many traditional Taiwanese dishes. The two I tried were excellent too. Mostly take-out and delivery. A great place to try if you like Asian cuisine and want something a little different.

Went to Mei’s today when I saw someone posted about it. And didn’t know there was a Taiwanese restaurant here in Tampa, so I was excited to try it. I invited my friends and and kids, there were 10 of us. Didn’t know they are closed for indoor dining. When I spoke Mandarin to the lady owner, I said there is 10 of us and they are all on the way if she would kindly seat us inside just for us. She was very kind to let us all in and catered to our group. Honestly, it didn’t look appealing from the outside, but you definitely won’t be disappointed with their food!! We ordered teriyaki chicken pizza, pepperoni and sausage pizza and a BBQ chicken pizza, great chewy crust, and tasted soo delicious! Beef noodle soup- the hand pulled noodles are amazing it tastes very authentic! Chives and pork, cabbage and pork dumplings, trio cups chicken- 1 cup of soy sauce, 1 cup of cooking wine, 1 cup of sesame oil, hence the name of it, was super flavorful, last but not least beef and vegetables stir fry! All were very inexpensive for good quality food!! Very impressed!! Go and pick up your to go, and support their business! May them open their for indoor dining soon!!
