The best Jamaican food in Tampa! Probably the best Jamaican food I've ever tasted! Everything about this place is great. The quality of food is top notch and the environment is very laid back and friendly! Love the jamaican music playing softly in the background. Always a treat to eat here! The Oxtail especially is a must have!

Drove by this restaurant and few times and finally decided to give it a try. So so so so good. I am from Jamaica and recently moved here from New York, it’s been so hard to find some good Jamaican food but this place???? SO GOOD! (And I am a tough judge on JA food!) Highly recommend if you want that OG Jamaican cuisine. Inside is very clean and the guy at the front has great customer service.

Everything about The Hummingbird Jerk House was fantastic. I ordered the Brown Stew Chicken with peas, rice, and cabbage. It was served hot with the meat falling off the bone and the sides cooked to perfection. Also, I ordered a beef patty that was so good that I ordered another. The restaurant was very clean, and the jamacian music playing is a vibe. Customer service is exceptional. Highly Recommended!

I likes. Favorite part is the portion size. Just big enough to be full. Them dumplings were really good. I also had the curry goat which wasn't not overpowered by the typical home style spice I remembered getting when visiting family. Which is what I prefer when out. Tables clean and the restaurant was neat. Nothing more could have been expected on that front. Thanks for the good food and service!

Update. Went again, and another great experience. The young man at the counter is awesome. Highly recommend. Oxtail and Curry Chicken was great. Great experience here. With the time change we were really for lunch, but they had jerk chicken with rice and peas ready to go. Tasted great, hot and fresh. Flavor was amazing, IMO was much better than the Jamaican place at The Grove. Employees were super friendly and helpful even early on. That's hard to find these days.

Jerk and curry chicken were fall off the bone tender. Juicy and savory meat with the most flavorful rice and peas. Order a fried dumpling on the side to soak up the sauce and get their homemade ginger beer. Its spicy and fresh, goes great with the ting soda (grapefruit). The owner is lovey. Come support her and enjoy the beautiful meals she creates!

Wow! What a vibe! Such an authentic Jamaican experience! First time here and I'm so glad I decided to stop by. Note that they are closed on Mondays. The Jerk Chicken is perfectly spiced and literally falls off the bone. The portions are great and my $16 dinner lasted me for 2 nights! They use the freshest ingredients for the rice/beans, cabbage and plantains. Just fantastic! I definitely enjoyed supporting this local business over the other chain restaurants in the New Tampa area. This cuisine is a niche and not your typical American style restaurant, so some of these reviews are a little biased comparing expectations to mainstream places to eat. You are served in styrofoam containers that are neatly taped so nothing leaks out. I've never seen a place do that before and I've eaten at hundreds of places. It was such a nice touch. The woman I ordered from was so sweet and extremely helpful explaining all the options since I didn't really know exactly what to order. I definitely recommend giving this place a chance for an amazing meal that will not disappoint you if you want to eat real Jamaican food.
