Einstein Bros. Bagels

I wanted to place a large order (~$200) for an event and went into the store to do it. The people I spoke to seemed a little overwhelmed by my request and directed me to a phone number. I left and tried the number (which didn’t work for me) but later found I was able to place my order online very easily. I wasn’t sure what to expect and called a day prior to confirm my order. On the day of the event, we picked up the order and it exceeded my expectations. Not only was everything correct and fresh, there were plenty of cups, napkins, utensils, and condiments which was perfect for our outdoor event. I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend this service to others.

On 1/23/2012 my mom and had ate at Einstein's. It was our weekly Monday mother-daughter date. Unfortunately, this would the last time I saw her; she passed away a few days later. This past Sunday was the 10 year anniversary of our mother-daughter date, so I took my daughter to Einstein's in honor of her grandmother. Unfortunately, we were not greeted by a very unfriendly disgruntled female employee who literally came around from the back shaking her head and made it visibly known she was annoyed that we were there. I asked her, "are you okay, did we do something to upset you" and she rattled on about how she's been there since 2am and is trying to finish up for the day. No apology. No kindness. Mind you, we weren't there 5 minutes before close but a half an hour before closing. I understand the world is short staff; I am as well in my place of work but I have never been unkind to a customer. On a day that was already hard, this woman made it so we didn't even want to sit outside and enjoy our food for my mom, my daughter's grandma. We took our food and ate it elsewhere. If you're having a bad day, don't take it out on other people, because they may also be having a hard day. It is never okay to be unkind to others.

I showed up and 730 am on a Saturday to pickup bagels for my daughter's birthday. The majority of the bagels were already picked through so I asked if there were any more in the back. I was told this was everything. I asked for the 2 remaining blueberry and 5 plain bagels. The lady asked, "you really want all my plain bagels. Umm...Okay". That was quite rude. I didn't know I was limited to how many bagels I should or could buy. I was treated like a major inconvenience with the employees looking at me and laughing upon trying to order the remainder of my order. To make matter worse, I'm pretty sure the lady who helped me was the manager since she was wearing a different colored shirt than the rest of the staff. Instead of blaming the customer for your lack of available product, make more?!? The guy at the register was friendly. Definitely not going back to this store.

I understand everyone is short staffed at the moment. But the way the female worker treated my fiancé and I today was so horrible. From rolling her eyes, shaking her head, sighing so loud to make it known to saying “of course you’d order that with only one person making the food” “let’s see what we can do”. I didn’t even know they were short staffed until she started complaining about it. And I felt bad for the girl who was rushing to make the food. But that’s still no excuse to throw tantrums and act so childish and rude to your customers. We didn’t even finish our order, we just walked away because we were feeling extremely uncomfortable. And I know this isn’t the only review that has been made about her. So I know she’s been doing it on other days too
