A little disappointed by the house as you can only look around the ground floor main rooms. The rooms you can explore are stunning and full of exciting history though. The gardens are glorious. There is a walled garden which is a great place to stop off and have a packed lunch. The main gardens of the house are beautiful and full of interesting and different plants and trees. The grounds are vast and have lots of walks for you to enjoy

Interesting National Trust property with beautiful gardens. Endless space for walking. The house is in a neo-gothic style with amazing ceilings. But the gardens are the star - we particularly liked the Garden in the Wood.

What a spectacular area this is. The house itself is lovely, but the grounds are the show here. The house is built in a gothic style, with a handful of rooms available to look at. Apparently upstairs is viewable, but there is a lack of staff at the moment to be able to do that. Volunteers on standby to answer any questions and they're all well informed. Plenty of grounds to wonder around and little secret gardens. We walked round to the arboretum and stumbled across a little shelter with a game of 4 in a row, and stopped to play it for a bit. Gift shop was lovely too offering plenty of selection from magnets, book marks and autumnal decorations. Walled garden looked a little tired but there was a sign explaining why. All in all, we would come here again.

The quirky gothic style house is definitely worth a visit. We spent a lovely morning here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . Although only a few rooms can be visited it is still worth a visit and we found it all very interesting. The ceilings are very unusual in the house and the grounds are beautiful to wander around. Nearby - a few minutes drive away the Lost Kitchen is worth a visit for lunch. There is a NT cafe onsite too.

Had a great day out at Knightshayes. The gardens are beautiful. Lots of walks are available, and some pushchair friendly walks too. The house was stunning, just a shame that only a few rooms on the ground floor are available to look around. Would have been nice to go upstairs and see the views. All in all, there is enough to keep you busy for the day and I would recommend visiting.

We had a lovely morning and afternoon exploring this site. Lots to see and loads of space to explore. The house is extremely impressive, one of the best weve seen and its such a shame there aren't enough volunteers to open the upper floors at the moment as we would have loved to see more of it. Really beautiful grounds on all sides of the house. The kitchen garden is wonderful and bursting with wildlife. We really enjoyed the woodland walk with the rope mazes too! Overall a beautiful place to spend a few hours on history and nature

Beautiful grounds and gardens, especially the walled kitchen garden. House is dark and slightly oppressive inside but the quality and craftsmanship of fixtures and fittings is eey impressive. From other visits, the trees alongside the drive are beautiful in autumn. £14 pp to enter the house a bit steep, especially as parking is extra. Volunteers knowledgeable and helpful.

Stopped here on my way from Lincolnshire to Plymouth, lovely place. Its a National Trust property and free to members Large areas of parking which is spaced up a hilly area, quite a walk back down to the entrance, there is a courtyard with shop and a cafe, then the house is a short walk along with the walled garden, there is quite a large Parkland here to walk around if you want to it was boiling the day I visited so I did venture to far. Only the bottom of the house is open but it was nice too see

Another wonderful National Trust experience. As we approached up the long winding drive, we were treated to a glimpse of Knightshayes court as we made our way to the car park behind. Plenty of parking and clear direction to the entrance. The entrance to the house was through the old stable block, which not only houses the welcome center but the usual gift shop, cafe, and book shop. The staff were very polite and helpful and we were soon on our way to view the house. As you leave the stable, the house gardens are to your right and a path to the house leads left. We chose to head for the house first. As we entered the house our usual welcome from volunteers was given and we started our viewing. It was at this moment that the fire alarm went off and we were asked to evacuate the house. A very well executed fire response was followed, (definitely not a drill by the way) and everyone was out quickly with no fuss. The staff were impeccable with their actions and normality was restored very quickly by the duty house manager and the all clear was given. 10 out of 10 on this very serious point. Well done indeed. The house itself was stunning. We enjoyed hearing volunteers quoting history, facts, retailing stories and divulging personal loves for many things therein. It adds to the experience quite significantly for me. I personally enjoyed Joyce's golf room. A lady of achievement indeed. We also very much enjoyed the gardens and the large array of different tree, plant and fauna species the gardens boast. The ornate pond and stretching front lawn were beautiful, and to walk to the lower boundary and look back on the house is a treat worth the effort. Once again, National trust have done a great job with how they present Knightshayes court. Thanks for the experience.

Truly amazing! It's one of the best National Trust houses. The interior was highly decorative and well presented. The ceilings were mesmerising and full of details. Everywhere you look, there would be something to admire. The kitchen garden was so so when I was there, but the formal garden area was a treasure. I particularly loved the pond full of blue dragonflies.
