Gilligan's Pizzeria

In tomah for the weekend and wanted to get some pizza. Googled Pizza and it was close by(right near Walmart) and not one of the major pizza chains(I like trying new places). Got cheese bread which was great, similar to Texas toast type bread. Also got a hand tossed cheese only and it was great, really cheesy. I should also add that we ate in, it’s a casual order at the counter and seat yourself and they bring the pizza to you. The prices were fair and the place looked great.

Let me just start with this, how can a place be bad when it has Gilligan in the name? To be honest, that is what got me in the door. I searched Google for pizza and this place caught my attention. From the moment I stepped in the door, I was pleased. The environment was quiet and pleasant. It was rather relaxing in comparison to most pizza places. The menu was written in chalk on a blackboard wall, an aspect of small, non-chain stores that I personally really like. The menu was very legibly and artistically written in many colors. The place smelled pleasant and welcoming. The staff was extremely kind and courteous the entire time. We choose to dine in. After you order the pizza, you find a seat and they bring the pizza to you. The staff visited our table multiple times to check on the quality of our visit from the pizza, to drinks, to the stereotypical "anything we can do to make your visit better" question. This all shocked me very much because this was not a sit down type restaurant. It was greatly appreciated though. There was normal household rolls of paper towel mounted to the wall on a diy type pipe. I really wish I would have taken a picture of it so that I could attach it to this review. However, I will try to remember in the future as I most definitely plan to return to this restaurant. This small ma and Pa pizza store impressed me top to bottom. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Highly, highly recommended. Just in case anyone is wondering, I was not paid and I was not offered anything by the store to write this review. I was very pleased and I wanted to express that so that other people would choose this place. Edit Unfortunately, they are out of business.
