Bistro Thierry

Despite the traditional French culinary commitment to animal cruelty, Bistro Thierry put on an exceptional vegan spread. I commend front of house on an authentic atmosphere which left me emotionally immersed as both a part of the Bistro family and a vague inconvenience due to dietary requirements. The food provided an array of sensory delights for the plant-based aficionado, well worthy of their premium. An exceptional dining experience. As they say in France; "Bellissimo!"

Extremely disappointed!!! It was such a disaster!!! Came here for dinner, a lady served us was in an arrogant attitude!!! We were treated differently ( or maybe I can say racial prejudice 🤷🏻‍♀️）I think it’s because we didn’t order any alcohol. I hold a probationary driver license and my friend couldn’t drink. The lady served us continued to push us to order alcohol or sparkling drinks. When we ordered the dessert, the lady told me something like: “ we’ll see how you go, maybe you don’t have time to have the chocolate soufflé.” After hearing that, I said: “okay then maybe we can have anything come together”. The lady also told me: “ because we put the soufflé in the oven, you can’t have them together.” It was sooooo ridiculous!!!!!! She also pushed us to order salad, more mains and baguette, cuz we were not very hungry, she was not in a recommended tone, just repeated to ask us to order the baguette. There was no respect at all. Food is VERY AVERAGE and overpriced. The chocolate soufflé was very greasy ( you can see from the photo it had a lot of oil). I feel alright if the food is overpriced or lack of flavour… but at least the service should be great right???????? Overall, there was nothing worth to come to this restaurant. No value. No service. No tasty food. No well-displayed dishes. Never come back!!!!!!

Dined here during lunch and had the following: - French onion soup with a large piece of crouton topped with melted gruyère; tasty but would have preferred the cheese to be melted into the soup blending in with the onions when served - Eye fillet steak was very tender and had a nice chargrill taste, not evenly cooked with one end slightly below medium rare but was still ok; better than overcooked steak. The concentrated mushroom sauce packed a lot of flavour and paired well with the steak; and the fries were lightly salted and crispy - Chocolate soufflé; when served the staff performed a little show by pouring the hot chocolate sauce into the soufflé; amazing to see how the soufflé rises as it was being filled. Soufflé was fluffy and inside it was soaked with the creamy rich chocolate sauce; tasted of high quality milk chocolate which was very delicious. Overall a great meal with friendly service; the French onion soup and the steak could be even better with a little fine tuning but they were still tasty. Highlight was the chocolate soufflé, probably my favourite soufflé.
