Boland's Open Kitchen

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for Summerlicious dinner. It was awesome!! I ordered deer? (Maybe). It was so tender and juicy. I was afraid of strong smell, but this is very good flavor. We thought it’s very good value more than we expected. We enjoyed these tasty food. Definitely, we’ll go back to Boland’s😋

My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary. It was great! We ordered the duck appetizer which was superb. She also had the souffle, which she personally didn't like, but I gave it a try and it was good! I ordered their venison wrapped in prosciutto, as it was their special of the night. It was absolutely exceptional. I had it medium rare and the second you cut into it, you know it's perfect. It had this delicious red hue and tasted very fresh and wonderful. The prosciutto also greatly complemented the dish. The dish comes with some roasted peppers and mushrooms, and is served on mashed potatoes and gravy. The waiter was also extremely friendly and attentive. I loved his enthusiasm. We had a great time, and would definitely be back.

Hard to make a call on this review. Short version: The atmosphere was very warm & pleasant. The fact that one of the owners is also part of the front of house/wait staff was a very positive touch. The food though... the flavours were impeccable, but the description of a couple of the plates were off. When the menu says “kale chips”, I expected something crunchy and not just kale leaves... and I expected the “curd” to not be the consistency of a smoothie. All in all, I’d say the price you pay almost fits what you get but I would go back a second time to see if it was just a bad night in the kitchen.
