Ancom Chinese Restaurant

Really solid visit. Dined in and it was new years eve so my expectations were tempered. They were super busy but still provided really good & polite service. Family spot, and their 2 daughters do alot of the front of house work. The youngest daughter was born for this. I had to chuckle a few times in amazement at her ability and professionalism, and just the way she talks like a grizzled vet at like 10 years old I had the General Tso's Chicken with steamed rice. Was very good. Just enough sauce and the chicken stayed crispy throughout the meal. Very good portion. Only thing that I didnt like was they didnt have any chili peppers. The meal was not spicy at all and i did not have an option to spice it up. They had the red chili paste but i would have liked some of the green chili peppers. Anyways, will definitely go back. Looking forward to the experience on a non-holiday.

Awesome restaurant!!! Great food and lovely service! We were treated like we were right at home. Food is fresh and delicious, service is amazing. I’ve never had such a great restaurant experience! I’m from out of town, but I will definitely be returning! Wish I could rate more than 5 stars, was just THAT good! Love it! Great job!!

Love it. Being going here for 17years. Still a wonderful place, wonderful owners and great food. Look I have read through the reviews and have a problem when someone gives a bad review for take out. The fact is, take out anywhere will not be as good as eating in unless you are extremely close by. Never have I gotton take out that was over 20 min from kitchen to table that was great because... wait for it... anything that stays in its own steam will get soggy, will not be fresh etc. etc. etc. So when anyone who wants to review on take out please make sure you have a fork in your food, food in your mouth before the 20 min. is up or don't comment. Yesterday I drove from my home town to Ancoms which is 55 min. away because no where have I been in Toronto or anywhere else that has as good food and as personable service as this place. I will drive and have drove that distance for many years cause nothing compares. Go experience for yourself. Nowhere will you get huge servings and as tasty good food for that price. Yes the restaurant is dated a bit, who cares, it has charm and brings me Back to a more simpler time. When quality mattered, price was fair, and looks didn't. Go try it for yourself, there in person. Ignore take out reviews cause its comparing apples to oranges, go sit and get ready to be blown away. BTW I bought 5 dishes for less then $55 bucks. My spouse and I filled our tummies and brought home enough for 3 of our adult kids to eat. Yes, we warmed it up in the stove, not in a microwave. Although not as fresh after an hours drive, still out did any other Chinese food we have had and I have tried quite a bit.

Old, neighbourhood Chinese food restaurant that has been there for at least 40 yrs. Many different owners, with most recent being newest. Serve the standard Canadian-style Chinese food at reasonable prices, and serving sizes. Consistent quality with no surprises if you decide to order clearly and slowly.

Great prices. I get takeout here all the time for their prices. Its not the best Chinese food but it is decent. The main problem is they give far too much sauce in all of their dishes. Its always filled to the top like a soup. And they always give me 2 forks but only 1 fortune cookie? Hello! I use chop sticks. lol

I've just ordered delivery for the first time. I'm very happy I decided to give this spot a try. Delivery was under 40mins, friendly service, good prices and the food is great! I ordered the shiumy, veggie fried rice, shanghai noodle and the dragon and phoenix match. Tasted fresh and flavourful. I'll be ordering from them again.
