Basil's On Market

Coming through town and stopped in for dinner. The wait staff was attentive and polite. We were sat very quickly. Nice atmosphere but the temperature was artic. My wife wore my zip up sweater but it didn't help much. Subtracted a star for that. No pleasant at all. On to the food. Huge portions. I had the braised short rib over risotto with roasted veggies. Absolutely a delight. Meat was tender with flavorful sauce. Risotto was thick and creamy with cheese oh so rich. Roasted vegetables were Brussels, peppers and onions cooked perfectly. My spouse had the salmon salad. Salmon was cooked to perfect. It was a giant salad and she particularly loved the candied nuts. Overall the food is top shelf. Service is perfect. Just control the A/C please.

Definitely a 3. Food passable and not overly priced, but more of a week night out dinner rather than a special occasion. Mixed on the staff. Service attitude was somewhat obligatory, but our server was competent and friendly. Greeter at the front door unsmiling and looking at her phone all the time.

I live in troy and this is suppose to be a top restaurant in this town but i wont be back! We stopped in about 15 min before they closed and asked if it was too late they said no. I couldn’t decide from a few items on the menu asked the waitress to help me she said I’ll order for you came back with a lobster mac & cheese. It was horrible. The lobster and shrimp We’re so overcooked they were unedible the cheese in the mac & cheese was runny almost like a soup it was inedible . I didn’t eat any of it sent all of it back and this restaurant had the nerve to still charge me for it?? I travel a lot and have been to many restaurants and this is the first one that charged me for something i didn't even eat! If they would not have charged me i would not be leaving this bad review! My wifes meal was overcooked as well. Maybe they rushed our meal because they wanted to close but still why not just tell us it was to late and we could have went somewhere else and why would u charge a customer for a meal they didn't eat??

Shelbys a sweet server. Their Salmon is amazing, the chefs typically don't over cook it. (Thank goodness) Excellent moscato and music selections. I love the lemon blueberry cake and the chocolate peanut butter pie. My children live the fries, cheese steak and the Chicken Parm. Oh and the Crab!! Yum 🥰
