Las Cubanitas Bake Shop

Great spot for cuban coffee and pastries! Had a iced latte and it was so delicious. Only reason for 4 stars is that when I returned a few days later for another one they ran out of ice and milk. I guess they can't help it but seriously? It was 3:30 pm 🤔 Even so, if I'm in the area again I would still stop by and try for another iced latte.

This used to be called La Guardia Bakery, and was owned by the same owners of the El Fenix Bakery in Union City, New Jersey, if memory serves. Nonetheless, it remains a fine Cuban bakery. The prices seem a little higher to me, but the quality is as good as when it was the La Guardia Bakery. The staff is helpful, professional, and polite, the cafe con leche is some of the BEST in Union City. There are even a few stools and a countertop for indoor dining. I do not know if they have a bathroom for customers, as I have always purchased my foods and beverages to go, and their croquetas, empanadas, and baked breads are as super delicioso as ever. All the staff wear face masks, at least ninety-eight per cent of the time. One time, a gentleman in the back came to the front and was not wearing a face mask. Signs are posted that customers must wear face coverings, but it is not enforced. Most customers do, but some do.

Las Cubanitas is like a homecoming stop whenever visiting New Jersey from Florida. Always enjoy their Cuban sandwiches and empanadas as well as pastries and coffee. Been patronizing them for year's - always pleased when stopping by. Stop by if ever on Bergen line in Union City - will not be disappointed.
