Botticelli Ristorante

Nice little place inside Monte Carlo. Very friendly server. Food is pretty good. The soup was a pleasant surprise. The mussels in red wine sauce are pretty standard - too bad the mussels were small. The risotto was a little underwhelming - too similar to the soup (not the restaurant's fault). Fish and chips are fried nicely. Price is right, and we all walked out happy!

I have been running events in the Monte Carlo Inn where Botticelli is located since 2015. We are there over 50 days each year and Botticelli has been incredibly accommodating and generous with us and our groups. From treating us with surprise baked goods when they deliver coffee to taking our group's lunch orders in advance so that the food is ready when we break for lunch in the restaurant to getting to know our clients by name they consistently impress and over-deliver. The food is good, the prices very reasonable and the servers, management and staff are some of the best people we know.

Very disappointed. My wife ordered a pasta dish as a vegetarian meal that was served with bacon. The staff did not correct the meal or offer to make the dish without meat. They were very gruff and dismissive in their verbiage when we pointed this out. Truly shocked to have been spoken to so UNprofessionally by the manager.

The risotto that we ordered tasted a little funny and I checked with the waitress to make sure everything was cooked properly. She promptly replied that everything is as it should be and it is most likely because of my Chinese background that I'm not used to risotto cooked like this. I was so shocked I just didn't know what to say, but now that I've overcome that shock, I felt it needs to be said. You don't judge a restaurant only by the wait staff, but this is unacceptable.

We walked in thinking it was going to be a quiet Italian restaurant. Instead we were greeted by the bar tender from the bar and told us to take any table. The restaurant was more of a pub. Sports channel blarring for the 3 customers at the bar. The ac must not have been working as it felt like walking into a sauna. Most tables were not clean and chairs in disarray. So we started to walk toward the door and the bar tender yelled over "what , already?" We said yes, not what we were expecting according to the web site. . So that's our experience. We never tried the food but I'm thinking we wouldn't have enjoyed that either seeing as the restaurant was nothing like described. We walked another few kilometers to Anna Maria trattoria and had an excellent Italian meal with Italian music in the background and not the TV. Go there...you'll enjoy it!
