Applebee's

We hadn't been to an Applebee's is a while. Upon viewing the menu I realized my favorite dish had been done away with, the BBQ Brisket Tacos. My husband ordered a Glazed chicken tender macaroni and cheese dish, he did not like it. I got the appetizer combo since I couldn't decide. The Spinach Artichoke dip was delicious per usual. Our server was polite and attentive. Overall it was ok food with excellent service.

1:30 in the afternoon, not too busy and it was the slowest service I've ever had. There were 4 of us, 3 adults and a child. She brought our drinks and disappeared. After 15 minutes she appeared to take our order. My steak was well done instead of med well, very dry. The chicken shrimp dinner the chicken was burnt, potatoes swimming in butter. She didn't come back to check on us, we finally asked for to go containers for the appetizers and the rest of a kids meal and bill. We waited another 20 minutes. Waitress wasn't very talkative and was very soft spoken. We use to love Applebee's but this visit we will rethink that.

Food was good, certainly plentiful. A big pet peeve for me is not placing a bowl (especially one that is overflowing) on a plate. My salad was spilling over onto the table. When a refill iced tea was brought to the table it was spilled (dripped) from the edge of the table in about 18" and not wiped up by the server.

We stopped there today for a meal and service was wonderful. One of our group has many food allergies & a disease that keeps her from eating red meat. Darin the manager couldn't have been more helpful in helping her order a modified meal, cooking it, and then came back to check on her later. My meal was excellent. If I am back through Vincennes I will be sure to stop again.

I ordered the Strawberry & Chicken Balsamic Salad along with their Strawberry Island Margarita. With looks alone it was a masterpiece but then the taste made my mouth water and I devoured the entire salad. With the added garlic breadstick I was so fully stuffed and 100% satisfied. I would definitely recommend this meal to any salad lover!!
