El Charro Tapapio #7

This is a hole in the wall type of place. Off the radar but so incredibly delicious!! The salsa tastes as if they just made it from scratch in the kitchen right before bringing it out. The tortillas also tasted homemade and of the best quality. The service was great and they have a massive outdoor patio which is great for big groups. I order the burrito plate and the portions were massive i could barely finish. It was stuffed full of chicken and beef rather than other places which don't out a lot of food in the burrito. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. The margaritas were also delicious!! I will definitely be going back soon!

New restaurant for me. I was downtown for equipment pickup and training. So, I wanted to have something on that side of town. I had never been here. I tried the (can you guess?) Carne Guisada. It was delicious. Flavorful, but not too spicy. Tender chunks of meat. The corn tortillas were the fluffy type. The rice and beans were decent, but didn't have much flavor. The guacamole was delicious, but had too much cilantro. I don't like the leafy texture. It looked like the made it fresh just for me. The salsa was flavorful without being hot. With my meal, they brought green and red salsa. The green didn't seem hot at all while the red was very spicy. Backward from what I'm accustomed to. I should have put a couple drops of the red on the Guisada and in the beans. The dining room was full, but there are only around a dozen tables inside. Almost everyone spoke Spanish. I got the impression some were from out of town by the conversation (which I more easily understand now.) I wanted to speak Spanish, but I don't have the confidence. I know that native speakers will be forgiving of me if I get things wrong, just as I am for non-native English speakers (and some English speakers). The decorations were amazing. I could have stared at the paintings all day. Pics that do not do them justice below. It was a lovely stop on a Sunday afternoon.
