Love the half time cookies. Amazing customer service, they went above and beyond to accommodate us when we were late to a showing (my own fault) and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back

The beginning of the brake could have been better. But being able to order food for the brake is a nice service. Having a sofa is even better. I noticed nothing bad.

We waited a long time to experience this iconic cinema and had a great night enjoying a cafe meal and movie (A Haunting in Venice) complete with intermission (with pre-ordered hot cookies and hot chocolate). We loved it! Such a comfy setting - the best way to experience the cinema!

The cookies are fantastic. Best cookies I've had in Australia and new Zealand. They taste homemade and are fresh out of the oven. The movie experience was lovely. The staff are very friendly and we loved the vibe here. Highly recommend this cinema if staying in Wanaka.

Excellent little cinema, small and not overcrowded. Lots of options for new movies. Love that they have an intermission and you can use the bathroom or get snacks etc. They sell large cookies with or without ice cream which people love! If only there was a vegan cookie option!

The way movies should be!
With an intermission break (5-10mins) halfway thru the movie. So you are able to get a freshly baked cookie (still warm), another cheeky glass of wine/ beer, or a quick pit stop to the bathroom before going back to watch the remainder of your movie.
Great atmosphere, with great seating options available in three cinemas on-site.
Cinema 1 & 2 are the larger cinemas, while cinema 3 is more cosier. Lounge options, bean bags, sitting within a car in cinema 1 or 2. Food is lovely, cookies are super tasty and a huge variety of ice creams to choose from.

I left Wanaka 13 years ago and every time I come back to visit I am amazed at how Callum is always at the Cinema, full of beans and keeping the audience entertained at half time. We always love the experience (and the cookies... And the pizza!!)

The fresh baked cookies during the intermission are definitely soul food. Absolutely great! The rooms are so cool and charming, the seats and sofas totally comfy. Staff super friendly, chatty and helpful. Thanks! This cinema is total worth it! Love it! Can't wait to come over again

If a friend recommends that you stop by Wanaka on your travels solely to get cookies from a cinema, you know those cookies are going to be epic.
In this case, we did stop by Cinema Paradiso for warm cookies. We didn’t have time to catch a full movie at the cinema as we were on a tight schedule, but the staff at the cinema were kind enough to let us order cookies without a ticket, and bake them for us upon order.
And the verdict? Yes, these cookies are absolutely worth the stopover.
