Nando's Peri-peri

Nando's is a restaurant I had always wanted to go to, once I found out there was a location in Washington, D.C. I knew I had to go. I had high expectations and I was not let down. The quality of everything from the food, to the service, to the restaurant itself was phenomenal. I can not wait to return. I highly recommend to anyone that is in the area or those who plan to visit Washington, D.C.

This was my first time eating at a Nando’s. I was excited because I had been experimenting making my own Peri-Peri chicken and was looking to try the “original”. I order the 1/2 Chicken at the medium spice level. The food came out quickly and had good flavor. The chicken want dry and the spice level wasn’t very hot (I will try the next level of heat when I go back). The staff was friendly and helpful. I’ll give it another try 👍🏼

Tasty and juicy, made with fresh ingredients and kind enough workers. Good indoor seating options, too, for its size and it’s easy enough to eat gluten friendly. But the portion sizes left me wanting for more, it didn’t fill me up much even though I have a small stomach. Yes, can confirm two years later that the food is very flavorful but the serving size is disappointing for the price. So just use that to gauge when placing your order.

Nando's chicken is so good. They know what they're doing. I got the 1/2 chicken and my husband got the Peri Peri bowl. Both were amazing. The chicken is cooked to perfection and the marinade was so good. We were both very happy and satisfied with our choices. We tried all the sauces and my favorite is the Peri Peri garlic sauce. The fries with perinaise is also very good and also gone by the end of our meal. The only thing that was a let down is the cauliflower but once we drenched that with Peri Peri sauce, it became bomb too. Atmosphere is nice however a bit confusing. The decor elevates the restaurant. We were sat by our server and we are not from here so we didn't know that we had to order at the counter or online. We had to ask but it's okay, the food was worth it. Also it was kind of entertaining to watch people keep missing where the door was. You go inside the building and you get into a lobby. The restaurant side is all glass but find the protrusion on the glass and that's where the door is. As for service, we had to ask for our utensils. They were scarce and not as friendly. But don't let that deter you, the food is bomb. Please come to Los Angeles, CA!

Been a while since I’ve had Nandos and it’s just as good as I remembered. Chicken was juicy, flavorful, and spicy! The side portions are a tad small but that’s just how they serve it. Had the 1/4 chicken with rice and coleslaw. The ordering process is not the most customer friendly but I was able to navigate it. Service overall could’ve been friendlier.

My friend and I wanted someplace where we could have a quick lunch. Her chicken breast and salad came right away, but it took around fifteen minutes before I got my chicken breast sandwich and cole slaw. I enjoyed my sandwich, but my friend's chicken was a little tough and she struggled to cut it. We were told that the only available seating was upstairs, which was okay, but had we known how badly lit the staircase was, we would have gone somewhere else.
