The Tavern At The Henley Park Hotel

Afternoon tea: For $60, I can see where this is a good value afternoon tea, is it my favorite? No, but it's also not $135 + champagne. As much as I ADORE st. Regis - the scones and clotted cream ARE better here! SERIOUSLY. Delicate, crumbly, melt in your mouth, and as warm as the service from Usha and the doorman. The earl grey with lemon and Jasmine tea are absolutely lovely. I do agree that the venue needs soft music. But if you think about the time it takes to prepare these treats daily -which they do (try it at home if you want to see the WORK it takes) the $60 is well worth it. ❤️ It was actually a really nice way to wait out the rain.

Love this place, it has a wonderful atmosphere for the most part, love the piano bar, the open roof restaurant it is amazing during day or night, it is wonderful when it rains, an you are having a bottle of belling-er and great company, prices of the hotel are good, I have stayed twice Dec. 2019- 2016, both for concerts, Cher, and the Depeche Mode. staff is very friendly, we stayed on the biggest room available it is the best choice upstairs,

Was staying at the Marriott across the street and needed a place for dinner within walking distance. We walked into this cozy quaint little hotel lobby and was told where the "restaurant" was. I say that because it hardly felt like such. It was about 10 tables nicely set in this little room off the side of the tiny bar. We walked in. NO ONE there. No people dining, no wait staff. Felt turned off. The bartender sat us and wow we were pleasantly surprised. Service was a little slow as he was also tending the bar but the food selection was nicer then I expected. I had salmon with cheese risotto that was delicious. Someone else at my table said it was the best pork chop of their life. WOW! This place is so underrated. We almost walked out but so glad we didn't. If you don't mind quiet and intimacy this place is the perfect hole in the wall.

Nobody knows about this place hence lack of reviews. It's an old school, very plush yet affordable (for DC) restaurant inside the Henley Park Hotel. Lot of mirrors and plush furniture. The bar area is nice and has a grand piano. Maybe they have events there, but they don't advertise much. Google doesn't even shows this as a 'restaurant or cafe' when searching the area. We went for brunch on a Saturday because a friend was staying in the hotel. Very nice experience all around. I highly recommend. Really, it's a hidden gem. Impress your friends or co-workers by taking them there since it's so well hidden and unassuming. Open table allows for reservations to be made here, but I don't think they are ever crowded.
