Mai Thai

I don't think you can go wrong with this joint. Generous serving size for the price, and tastes really good, for the most part. The reason why I'm giving 4 stars is there are things on the menu that can be hit-or-miss. I've generally liked most of them, but their salad was way too salty and the duck that went on top of the salad was way too chewy. I'd stick to their stir fried noodles and/or curry.

One of the only few places I will go to for Thai food in DC. What's great about this place is that whether you dine in or order takeout, they are consistent. As an appetizer their papaya salad is a great choice. It's a fresh, crunchy, little spicy veggie dish that has a lot of flavor. If you don't like spicy food, their ladna is a great choice and is one of my favorites. The broth is so flavorful that Id rather use a spoon than a fork as my main utensil. The portions are great and you'll catch yourself scraping the plate (as I do each time). When I'm craving something spicy, their drunken noodles hits the spot. They add just the right amount of spice (although you can always adjust that), veggies and noodles and is also packed with flavor.
