My favorite restaurant. This was my 2nd time to this restaurant but first time to this location. They made us feel very welcomed. The food was amazing and a large portion. The food wasn’t expensive at all. The cornbread is amazing! The smothered pork chops were the best and their sides are so good. Sherilla S worked both the bar and tables and she was on point. She did not miss. There was also a male server that I didn't get his name but he was amazing too. He was very comical and you could tell he loved his job. There was a DJ that played all the best tunes! Highly recommend this place!

Great service and delicious food! We are so happy to have tried Carolina Kitchen today. Our server, Roger, was absolutely wonderful! We tried the shrimp and grits, creole salmon, ribs and fried chicken. The recommendations were excellent and have us definitely wanting to come back for more. Thank You Roger for your attentions and making today such a great day for us.

One word. GREENS! I LOVED them! I swear someone’s Granny made those greens. They were fire! I dined with two coworkers and we all loved it. I had spicy chicken, rice, greens and yams. I drank a champagne margarita and it was great too. We vibed with the DJ who was lots of fun, my only complaint was the slow service. They simply didn’t have enough employees. The bartender ended up being our server and we were not sitting in the bar. She was very busy. I think we were there a couple hours total between waiting and eating but ~ I’d do it all over again for those delicious GREENS! Parking is a bit of a pain because there is no actual parking lot, so we parked on a side street with metered parking. If visiting DC, Uber there and back but DO GO! :)

This was one of my better stops in the DC area. Getting to the location was a little interesting. We had to traverse a few distressed areas to get there, but it was well worth the adventure. Upon arrival, I found the parking to be limited,however, a nearby shopping plaza added the solution. When entering the first observation, it was a very active to go line setup cafeteria style. The hustle and bustle of the line gave the impression that the to-go business was just as good as dine in, if not better. The dining room was to the right and seemed to have the ability to operate on two levels. The menu was a sheet of paper (nothing fancy) that gave the impression, "This is just to let you know what we have. it's the food itself that will keep you coming back." The table bread is cornbread with a honey butter drizzle to add to your discression. The bread was moist and delicious by itself. The drizzle simply put it over the top. The food portions were plentiful, and everything was seasoned exceptionally well. As you can see from the photos there is a lot to choose from. Some of the standouts, fried lobter tail, the collards, and mac & cheese, just to name a few. I can't name anything that would have been considered substandard. The service: the one area that could use improvement. The waitress was friendly and helpful with suggestions and overall outstanding in taking the orders. She did a great job on checking back on how we liked our orders and was attentive to adjustments. The one challenge came when it got super busy, and beverage glasses were not refilled for an extended period of time. Dessert was serveral cake options displayed in to-go containers. Our party trird lemon cake, red velvet, and a sweet potato spice cake. (All were fresh, super moist, and delicious). The visit was exceptional, and I will certainly make it again when the DC area.

My family and I were in D.C. visiting my daughter at college and came here for dinner. The food was great! The only complaint that I have is that we weren’t told the gratuity would be added to our bill. When we gave the waitress her tip she informed us the tip was on the bill because we were considered a party since it was 7 of us. We didn’t feel right taking the cash out of her hand so the same amount she was tipped on the bill is what she received in cash also. Because of the the great food and waitress service the next time we visit D.C. we will come back. This time we know the tip is already added lol.

This place is unbelievable, first walk in, the guys name “Charles “ was so nice ! He provided the best service! ! I never see a man cool like him ! It is our first time be in the restaurant, and I think they get the traditional way to welcome to first time customers. Just prepare for that😂😂 This place is awesome! Food is delicious 😋! Definitely will go to the restaurant again!
