I highly recommend this restaurant. The service is always kind and attentive, and the food always impresses. I’ve been for dinner and happy hour and have always walked away happy, satisfied, and full.
The restaurant has a really nice ambiance whether you’re at the bar or in the dining room. The menu provides everything you’d want and the kitchen delivers. The drinks are well balanced and generous.

Recent Visit:
I was hosted to lunch by my senior colleagues. We had a great time!
Good food, good company, good vibes, great cocktail presentation. Service could be better though as our waiter was very inattentive.
However, I still recommend if you want to have a taste of french and Japanese fusion in a decent space.
Second time here and I shall definitely revisit.

Love this place. Their happy hour is well priced, the cocktails are delicious, and the apps are awesome. It’s a great way to feel gourmet on a budget. I don’t eat sushi, but my friends all say their sushi is a steal. Would recommend, but go early. It can fill up (understandably so). I’ve also halted events here and it’s incredibly easy. Great for all occasions!

Came late Friday night with a reservation and the place was packed. Nice atmosphere, we were seated after about 5 minutes.
The service was great, attentive and friendly.
The restaurant was quite dark but it adds to the atmosphere.
The drinks are the highlight. Amazingly good Old Fashioned. The Painted Lady and the Yuzu Rasberry Smash were bright and nice. Highly recommended and can’t wait to try the others.
The food was a fun experience. The duck pate was not really special, not really a pate in my opinion. But the side pickle and the mustard are really good.
We try two different nigiris but don’t really like it. The scallops didn’t stand out - cannot taste the uni butter. The honey camember ones were not a good combination - rice and cheese, both are rich in your mouth.
The rabbit pappardelle was good. I like pappardelle in general so I enjoyed it, but the sauce was too creamy and the rabbit was kinda dry and bland - though pair well with the creamy sauce. I just expected more from tbe rabbit hind leg.
The sashimi pizza was really good! I was skeptical at first but it was well executed. The smokiness shines throughout and the seaweed salad was a well thought out edition.

This fresh French / Asian fusion restaurant was one of my finest dining experiences in DC. Located in the fashionable Dupont Circle area, this eatery was operating on all cylinders. My Sangria was refreshing, particularly on a hot, muggy day. The Burrata which followed was fresh and tasty. My wife had the Gazpacho which was also delicious. For my main course, I had the ribeye steak. I loved the preparation. It was sliced, tender, with a very tasty sauce. Even the side order of french fries were crispy and plentiful. Service was super friendly and professional. Overall, an amazing choice for dinner.

Great happy hour menu, good drinks, not too loud or overcrowded. Nice substantial charcuterie, more than I was expecting!

Get there in happy hour time and very surprised they have sushi rolls, the sushi was absolutely awesome, you guys have to stop by and check out the good price and quality, also they have my favorite draft beer (allagash) so a great combination and making easy to me give them 5 stars

Had a spread here with friends which allowed me to try a couple of options on the menu.
DRINKS
Drinks were well balanced between strong and sweet. Had the yuzu raspberry and pear sangria
MAINS
Had the fish and chips and smoked salmon Sushi and both were great
Salmon and Branzino were cooked well and weren’t dry
I was looking forward to trying the chicken but it was a bit dry and needed the sauce to make it manageable.
The sashimi pizza was surprisingly nice. Some of the seafood pieces were a bit too large for me but overall I enjoyed it
SIDES
The fries were chef’s kiss but not surprised since this is a French restaurant
The charred broccoli was actually really good and I was surprised by how much I like it.
DESSERT
Crème brûlée was everything! 10/10
SERVICE AND AMBIENCE
Service was great and ambience was lovely with good mood lighting.

Following the realization that modern French fare is a fleeting commodity in downtown D.C., I remembered the subdued sanctuary that is Le DeSales. We rushed in exactly at 4:00 PM (which I am aware is so obnoxious to the staff). The Bartender didn’t blink. He immediately got us drinks. My lavender martini was exquisite!
Food was superb. Each dish was well-timed and perfect in presentation, temperature, and quality.
For the average diner, glancing at a menu that offers classic French fare as well as trendy-titled sushi rolls will naturally spark doubt. Trust me when I tell you the sushi is delectable. The French onion soup is perfect. It’s nothing short of magic!
Do yourself a favor and locate this mid—block treasure. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to the staff and the bartender at Le DeSales! Can’t wait for my next visit!

We happened upon this place accidentally. It was a good find! Tucked between office buildings and the Mayflower hotel, it’s on a quaint one block side street. Came for dinner on a Wednesday night. Bar was crowded. Eclectic group of people which made it fun. It’s French food with an Asian (primarily Japanese) twist. The beef tartare was some of the best I’ve had in DC. I had the salmon for my main entree along with a side salad. The salmon was just “ok”. The side salad was quite delicious. Nice selection of Whiskey. Solid 4 star experience.
