La Plaza

The chips and salsa: chips tasted fresh but could’ve used salt, salsa didn’t have flavor or spice. We got the chicken enchiladas, beef soft and hard shell tacos combo plates as well as a beef chimichanga plate. All tasted really good. There wasn’t much lettuce on the combination plates (a few shreds truly), and I think the adult portions should’ve been slightly bigger but my enchilada, rice and refried beans was the same size as my child’s kids meal size. The restaurant was clean, the service was very good and it was fun they gave us blow pops with our check, fair prices. I’d recommend this place if you visit DC.

This salvadoreño restaurant is honestly one of the coziest places around Capitol Hill, and each time I am around the area I make sure to pay them a visit. The food is affordable, delicious and filling, with great service and a lovable atmosphere. Great for vegetarians too, and I absolutely recommend their tamal.

Really do not want ANYone to hear this: but I have not eaten at a restaurant in DC that makes me feel more welcome. Carlos is the consummate host: personable, genuine and attentive. ADD to the above that the food is fantastically cooked and you'll see why I try to get to La Plaza as often as is possible.

This place is the absolute best!! Their quesedillas (no matter what kind you get whether it be the steak or shrimp) are out of this world.The Camarones Reynosa's are perfectly cooked and very light. Their fajitias, again amazing and have so much flavor! The servers are all very attentive and friendly. Overall, if you're looking for delicious Mexican/Salvidorian food for a decent price, look no further cause this is the place for you! I am already dreaming about coming back😍 10/10!!

Tough to find a place that deserves 5 stars all around but this place was impeccable. We visited while walking around town and found this place. Adequate outside seating but plenty of room inside for a nice cool retreat from the sun. Affordable and delicious frozen margaritas - they also serve up their guac with warm pita like chips which was totally new to me! The service felt like we were family and they even comped us a round of tequila shots! This meal secured my sturdiness to walk around and explore for several more hours so of course, I will return!

I grew up on the hill a couple miles away and I’ve been coming here since I had a memory. This is by far my most favorite place to eat in the world. Whenever I come I feel like I’m back at home. All the staff are great and have been here forever. Their steaks and meat are genuinely better than any steakhouse I’ve been to and everything always tastes great. Anyone that’s given any kind of criticism about la plaza probably sucks.
