Hands down one of the best taco spots in the area. The food is amazing. The Birria tacos and consommé is off the charts. The salsa’s on the side also complement the food they serve. It’s takeout only and they have two windows but no entry to the store front building. It’s convenient for those walking (U street) but driving to pick your food up is a headache seeing the parking is scarce everywhere in that area. If you wanna sit down I believe they recently opened a new location in a food hall. Well worth it!

Grabbed a bite before a show at 9:30 Club. My first time trying birria and went with the lamb—it was delicious! Mangolada and Piña Chamoyalada were both very filling and not overly sweet. The cactus is an excellent vegetarian option. The only thing they could do better at is having seating. I will be back for sure!

Definitely need to check this place out !! My family had Lamb quesabirria tacos, Al pastor, lengua, and carnitas and they were all sooo good !!! The salsas included and consomé were delicious as well !! We also got the chicharrones and OMG SO GOOD !! The guacamole was delicious as well! If you’re craving some delicious tacos this is a place to definitely go to !!

The homemade tortillas, pillowy-soft with a hint of corn sweetness, deserve a special mention, as does the exquisite array of salsas and condiments which elevate each dish from fantastic to unforgettable. To summarize, Taqueria Xochi is more than just a restaurant - it's a gateway to a rich and diverse culinary culture. Whether you’re a lover of Mexican cuisine or a curious foodie, I cannot recommend Taqueria Xochi enough. It's a five-star fiesta of flavor that never disappoints!

Birra tacos were delicious! This was on my list for DC, and since I was in the area, I had to hit them up. I was really happy to see they opened a restaurant since I've seen so many reviews during the pandemic. I tried all the birria tacos and they were really delicious....but the guacamole..Bangerang! They don't have any seating but there are plenty of parks around to post up and enjoy.

Taqueria Xochi always hits the spot. When ordering, you're given the option of whether you're going to eat right away or later, which is basically their way of offering to pre-assemble your food or leave it separate so you can do it yourself. Unless you have a long commute, I'd recommend just saying you're going to eat right away. Even traveling for 15-20 minutes has been fine for us. There are two windows - one to order and one to pick-up, so make sure you go to the right one. If you order online, in theory, you are supposed to receive a text when your order is ready, but we have never actually received that text. In terms of recommendations about what to order, I suggest: Chips and Guacamole, Beef Quesabirrias, Carnitas Tacos, Al Pastor Tacos, Tacos de Canasta, Morita Salsa, and Tres Leches.
