Bluestone Lane Scott Circle Coffee Shop

I live next door. It's coffee is maybe 3rd best after Compass and Peets. But good. Interior compact. Mixture of upscale Asians from John Hopkins, embassy types, tourists from the hotel and people getting Interviews. Good sandwiches buy a little above market prices. Good service but no cash. I always feel I'm getting coffee from an ATM. You walk in and swipe your card. It has bathrooms in the hotel one floor below street. It's a walk but clean. You can use valet parking but you may have to pay. There is street parking but read signs carefully. Outside tables are pleasant with a view of street and park and of course a statue with Scott on a horse. It's not far to explore city. A short walk to metro station or White House and monument. Dupont Circle and the Phillips museum etc.

This place is really on and off. When I used to go to Bluestone lane, there would be a lot more to the avocado toast (tomatoes, sprouts, etc.) but now it's literally just avocado on bread with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. I could have made this on my own, it definitely is not worth $8. Maybe they didn't make it correctly at this location - I'm not sure. Sometimes the service is great, sometimes the service is terrible, but the coffee is usually always pretty good. I wish I could love this location but it's such a mixed bag.
