I finally got to stop here cause we’re not rushing through this time around. I think we ordered almost everything on the menu! The prices are incredibly reasonable. Richardson root beer is the best, smoothest in the world. Soft ice cream is high quality because they know minimum fat content needed.

A icy cold mug of root beer along with a cheese burger, fries will make you feel nostalgic anytime. But at Mac's anything on the menu is good. And the service - friendly and welcoming. Make it a part of your summer vacation. And if you traveling through, stop and have yourself an enjoyable time. Include Mac's in your Labor Day weekend.

Nostalgic Drive In slinging classic American fare such as burgers, fries, and shakes. I ordered a cheeseburger, potato salad, and a malted chocolate shake at the counter. Everything was delicious. The way that they take and cook orders was odd to me. (servers having to cook their own orders instead of a dedicated grill/fry cook) but nonetheless the food came out hot.

I have been wanted to try this place for so many years and I finally got a chance to with my daughter. The whole experience was amazing the prices are so reasonable. Make sure you have cash because it is a cash only place but they do have a atm on the property. I got a rootbeer milkshake my daughter got a lemonade I also tried the sausage sandwich with peppers and onions. And my daughter had a plain burger and fries. I will definitely go back. I recommend this place 100 percent.

Love Mac’s! Our favorite place in Waterloo. Would really like it if you guys would start clean the ketchup and Mustard squeeze bottles. Couldn’t find one that didn’t have funk on it. As you can see in my pic how much in need of a good cleaning they need. Not a help issues as you can see all 5 guys working are having a bro huddle when they should be paying attention to the details.
Again ,love Macs, don’t want to see it go down hill…

Being from a small town in the midwest, this was an absolute ode to my younger days. The food was good, the people were friendly and such a nostolgic nod to the past.

Love what this place for what it is! An old burger stop with car side service or indoor seats as well as picnic tables front and rear for sunny days!
Inexpensive menu with all the basics covered from dbl cheese burger to chicken and fish sandwiches. Great root beer and PBR in frosted mugs!

This place emotes hometown spirit. Local owned and operated, Mac's owner takes great consideration in maintaining the experience expected of his patrons year after year. Locally sourced beef and Richardson's root beer are a couple of hallmarks. Carhop service (sorry no roller skates) or indoor dining are available. Weekly classic car nights and the continuous sounds of "oldies" make it a throwback to an era seemingly forgotten. Don't be afraid to order a pizza and leave room for some soft serve ice cream!!!
