Blue Iguana

We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! Having heard negative reviews of their food, I'm here to stomp those reviews in the ground. Their food (and service) is phenomenal!! The taste of the dishes there left my mouth watering for more! The ambience is warm and inviting, the lighting and the wall decor (sugar skulls) and colorful floor tile gives the place a unique and authentic feel. We will come back here again, and highly suggest you do as well!!!

I like the Blue Iguana. The food is really great and is distinctly different while still being Mexican. I love the food here! The ribeye appetizer is amazing! The atmosphere is outstanding and can accommodate large groups. My only complaint is the service is not so great. It seems like the bartenders/servers have no training on how to engage customers, which would boost their take home pay. Most of the time I'm in here sitting at the bar the staff only really talk amongst themselves instead of working on getting better tips and making customers feel welcomed. And since this place is in a hotel lobby, there are quite a few people sitting at the bar alone. I know when I travel alone on business, I really appreciate a friendly bartender. Last time I was here, the only bartender was also making guacamole for multiple groups of diners while people sitting at the bar sat for a very long time waiting for another drink. People did get tired of waiting. I want to see this place do great, but they need to better train bartenders and servers and make sure the bar has a bartender not doubling as a waiter.

Two visits with large groups. First visit the service was outstanding and much better than expected for recently opening. Second visit it was just sub-par service. The atmosphere is a great addition to the cedar valley. The food is great but it seems if a majority of the dishes are too spicy for most. I will go back in hopes of a more mild menu and a chance for good service. Thanks for taking a chance in this location. Cool the menu down and you will have a long time establishment.
