I ordered a chicken quesadilla and this is what it looked like. They burnt the tortilla and hardly put any cheese in it. *update* (after a handful of bites, I found a long hair in my food which obviously ruined my appetite.) I also got a burrito which also had a burnt tortilla. They were low and almost out of all the toppings and instead of getting more, they barely put anything on my burrito. The guacamole looked like it had been sitting out for days. I can see from other reviews that this has been an issue for quite some time but there has not been anything done about it. Sad to see one of my favorite places going down the drain.

I love Pancheros. But the Waterloo AND Cedar Falls location have been having consistent issues for a long time now. When I have food delivered, it’s rarely hot or warm - more room temperature or slightly warmer. They also often forget items I’ve paid for and ordered. It’s absolutely frustrating that it happens 9 times out of 10. They need to check the receipt and bag to make sure contents match the order. This is a reoccurring issue.

Every time we order from there on the app, they’re out of essential items. We make the drive up there and they’re out. The other day, my husband called up there to see if they were out of anything before driving that far. They were out of chips for the Queso. Plus, they answered the phone with “yes!”. I suppose that’s not awful considering they never answer the phone. Clearly we didn’t make the drive. Tonight, being a weekend, we hoped they would have plenty of food. He tried calling first, no answer. He drove up and they had everything, but the Queso was weird. Either too much of one cheese or burned. He said it was a new pot, but it was awful. Couldn’t eat it. It’s only this store!!!! I’ve eaten at others many times and never have had an issue, but at this store, we’ve never had a good experience. They don’t even know how to run a business. It’s as if they are annoyed with all the customers. No manners at all.

I sont like Mexican unless it's taco bell andbthats not authentic. Most authentic Mexican eaterysbhave waaaaay too many onions on everything it's almost like they usefreeze them into their ice cubes 2 lol TOTALLY JOKINF 😉 the cheese quesadillas are usually always good; its like eating a Cheesey 🧀 pizza 🍕

Staff member said to another worker, "they can't fire me for not cleaning because that wasn't part of my application." It was very clear that none of them were interested in keeping the place clean at all. It was disgusting. Food was thrown and dropped everywhere on the steam table- I can't imagine what the parts customers don't see look like. Tortillas at Pancheros are usually the best part, but these were crispy and crumbling apart. The majority of the staff was clearly high and gave no interest in the line that was forming. Just make the drive to Cedar Falls, this place is not worth it.

Freezing dining room and terrible quality.
It’s 5 degrees outside and about 30 degrees inside. I had my kids with me so I didn’t have a choice but to eat inside, where we could see our breath. I took a picture of the inside of the windows, which were covered in a thick layer of frost, but it doesn’t look like I can post it here.
They had about 5 pieces of chicken on their chicken quesadilla and our burritos were all rice and bean juice.

Restaurant was filthy... floors and tables. Steam table with food was not hot and disgusting since they had pans missing it cannot keep warm. Steak sitting on counter ready to be cut was cold. 3 employees oblivious on how to wait on a line full of customers. Employees need to wear their pants up so they do not have to pull them up while working using their gloves that they use to serve food. And look and dress more appropriate for a restaurant. Used the save spatula to mix Burritos and husband got extremely HOT one then mixed mine so I could not eat it. We won't go back since it is so run down now.

Such a dystopic experience to pick up food at this store. It looks like other Pancheros establishments. My memory tells me to expect quick employees serving up very nice tasting food that creates a full stomach sensation and the mental mellowness borne of food security.
Instead... I face the disdain for my presence. But actually even less than disdain, I face indifference which requires less emotional involvement in the grand experience the employees offer. Their food offering has become banal*. Paired with the far from adequate cleanliness of the soda fountain station and general appearance of the floor upon entering the employee attitude creates a double header of disappointment.
