Double Ai

Beautiful view of the water . quality food and kind servers. I went for lunch but i will be back for dinner soon! please consider getting different tea pots. The ones used for green tea have to press against the individual’s cup to pour the tea which is not so sanitary since it will be touching where someone drank . Also it’s plastic and did not keep the tea warm , although the servers were very kind to get us refill. ultimately it was clean there and I will return for dinner

Came here for the first time super excited to try it and was super disappointed. We ordered Mongolian beef skewers and pork dumplings as an appetizer. The beef skewers were raw!!! And cold in the middle disgusting. I informed our server who was super young and she didn’t know what to say. The pork dumplings were doughy. The sushi which I hate to say was horrible. The tuna was chewy. It tasted like super market sushi. It was not good. Owner and managers are nice. Probably not going back, but I guess worth a try if you get the Chinese food, not the Japanese! I’m getting sick thinking of the food I ate. Ugh what a disappointment was so excited to finally try this place. 🙄

Came here for the first time with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. The hostess and server was super nice. The place was clean and bathroom was spotless, even had a nice candle burning. I ordered a few rolls and my bf ordered boneless spare ribs. For some reason, his ribs came out about 10 min before my rolls. That was disappointing that we weren't eating together right away, should have brought everything out at the same time. But luckily my food came shortly so we were able to eat together for the most part. My rolls were delicious and I loved them. Unfortunately my boyfriend's boneless spare ribs were very bland and with not enough sauce, I tried a piece myself. So that was disappointing that he couldn't really enjoy his meal and I was loving mine. We will give this place another chance since everything else was great. Also love the location right on the lake and looking forward to dining on the patio when it gets warmer.

This is the best Asian/Sushi hands down...We are regulars... The most friendly and cozy experience you can possibly ask for... The Asian dishes are quality and sushi is superb... hidden gem!!! Summer time the deck is a beautiful place to seat and enjoy pleasant out door experience over looking the lake... Superb!!! Absolutely love it... Jeff, the owner, is the man... always smiling and grinding.

Love Double Ai every time I’ve come. The sushi is very fresh and the Chinese dishes taste pretty authentic. It can be hard to pull off an eclectic Asian-fusion menu and not diminish the taste and quality of everything but they do it well and with a beautiful lake view! Whenever I’m in this area I have no need to explore elsewhere- Double Ai kills it!

Overall an OK experience. The food was middle of the road. We had sushi, kani salad, General Tso's chicken, and black bean sauce beef. Sushi and kani salad were OK, General Tso's was very soft and could use some crispiness. The beef was OK and the veggies tasted pretty fresh. The place is a bit disorganized, loud, and chaotic. It took quite some time to have our orders taken and a long time to get the check. There is a bit of nickel and dime-ing going on with the beverages. No complimentary hot tea as is the norm for these types of Chinese restaurants and when we ordered water we got $2 bottles of water. They said they did not have tap water which is kind of absurd. There seems to be a lot of regulars here and the staff is very friendly overall. But that did not work in our favor being here for the first time - the staff was happily and loudly giving one table free drinks, one table a discount, and giving out ice cream to all the surrounding tables. No such offers for us, sadly. Double Ai ya!

Might go again - I've been to Double Ai's 3 times or so now. The first 2 times was a good experience. However, the most recent, 3rd time was quite disappointing. I visited with a number of my friends and their kids. This last experience was not what I was expecting. The problem was when we were being seated. Given the current COVID times, you would think that all restaurants are taking extra care in safety guidelines. This was not the case. When looking around, our group noticed that the seating arrangement was not taking into consideration social distancing. People were seated without table separation as most places are doing now. Because of this, our group asked to be seated at a different table from the one that they were setting up. The second seating arrangement that was being set up was not much different from the initial. It was a corner and last table but right behind another table and customers. Therefore, we asked to be seated at a specific location at the patio which became the only table separated from others. The facial expression that was given to us for asking this was very unpleasant. We should not need to ask for this type of seating arrangement given the current environment. In addition, the workers should not give customers such a displeasured look for asking of such arrangements. COVID safety rules are a given. Either place a note that your restaurant doesn't care about spreading or use common sense. As I am a local and did enjoy the food and outside dining setup near the lake, I may give Double Ai's another chance. However, if I do visit again, it may be the last depending on the service and rude workers, if any, at the time. Highly recommend management to review their workers and following COVID guidelines.
