La Playa Maya

Very nice dinner on an early Friday evening. Wasn't busy when we arrived, but definitely was getting busy when we left. The chips were typical. The salsa was very good, but at times was a bit spicy. We ordered shrimp fajitas for 2. It was plenty and pretty good. The shrimp was overcooked, but that is somewhat the expected with a steaming hot cast iron pan. My wife enjoyed a margarita.. We'll definitely go back!

We sure wish we had tried La Playa Maya sooner. We have been driving past it, at least once a week for over 4 years. The building just doesn't stand out BUT once you step in the door, the inside has a really nice atmosphere and it's well decorated. The food is good and reasonably priced. Portions are generous. Tastes like it's all made from scratch. Service was excellent. Food came out of the kitchen really fast even though they were really busy.

Always the best service ever! The food is always delicious and the drinks are as well! We love sitting at the bar if it's open but even if it isn't, the service never fails at the table! The fajitas are amazing and so is the guacamole! The ceviche is also a favorite of mine to get (pictured)! Next on my list to try is the table side flaming queso!!!

Used to be a great place. Service okay. But the food changed. My favorite was always the big burrito which always had plenty of meat. This last time ordered only 1/3 of the meat inside with smaller tortilla. Can’t say it’s a great place anymore. Also asked for side sour cream, 2 tablespoons arrive and on the bill $1.95. Before they were always happy to bring it out. Now nickel and dime you to death. Chips were at bottom of barrel all broken up too.

My husband and I went this past weekend When we walked in we waited a little bit to be greeted even though there were like 4 young girls at the front counter talking and basically ignored us. They never made eye contact , kept talking amongst themselves and then one grabbed some menus and said “follow me”. My husband and I were not impressed with their customer service. The food was good though and our waiter was nice.

This is the third Mexican restaurant we've tried since moving to the Weatherford/Hudson Oaks area. You know what they say: Third time's a charm. The service was fast and friendly. Our waiter was attentive, yet not intrusive. He brought our margaritas in a reasonable amount of time for a Friday night at 5 p.m. The complementary chips and salsa were good, but if you don't like anything spicy, I'd probably just order some queso. My wife had the shrimp enchiladas, which she said were delicious. And I really enjoyed my cowboy enchiladas. Overall, we were both very satisfied with this restaurant and plan to come back on date nights.
