Dickey's Barbecue Pit

Today, less than an hour ago I picked up a pulled pork sandwich plate and added a brisket chili, along with okra and cole slaw as sides. The okra and coleslaw was the best part of the meal. The okra was covered in a light breading that was fried to a nice crisp golden brown and the coleslaw was the best tasting that I've had in awhile. This place is suppose to be about the meat as the name indicates, there was nothing delicious and savory about the over salted dried out pork I got on a bun. The chili was over salted too. I'm not sure I'll go back now! I hate spending my money and being so disappointed. This was an $18.95 fast food meal that left me more than disappointed.

I walked into this establishment around 230pm on a Saturday afternoon. There was maybe 1 customer inside and myself. I walked up to the counter and was told I would be helped momentarily. There were 3 ladies behind the counter. I waited almost 5 minutes without saying anything, just waiting patiently, then I told the ladies, "I'll go somewhere else", and they told me to have a good day. They acted as if I was putting them out. I took my money elsewhere, and always will in the future. Another thing, if you're going to be in the catering business, make sure your vehicle registration is valid. The current vehicle registration expired in 2015

I love Dickey's. We used to eat it once or twice a month until the one on S Main St. closed. I was glad to see o e open back up in Weatherford. Out visit here was great. I had a 2 Meat Plate of Brisket and Ribs with Potatoe Salad and Coleslaw. Brisket was tender and perfectly smoked with a nice ring on the edges and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone and good enough to devour sauceless. I do have to comment about the service. The two young men staffing the place did their best, but the needed another hand at least. However, that does not excuse the rude behavior of several customers that wanted their needs seen to immediately, regardless of the fact that other customers were in line to be served as well. A busy restaurant where two polite, hard working young men are doing their best to keep up with the dinner rush, is NEVER a reason to be so inconsiderate and rude.
