Ho Mei Village Cantonese Restaurant

The food here is absolutely amazing. I ended up having the seabass, which came out whole and then the bones were removed at the table. So tasty. And the prices are excellent for the standard of food you're getting. My husband and I had a mixed sharer starter which was also lovely. I think the beef satay was my favourite. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Had read that had changed hands this year so decided to dine in to see how it fared.. we were absolutely delighted with our meals, the starters were excellent (vegetable spring rolls and prawn toast) there was so much! We had sweet and sour chicken and chicken satay and it was delicious! So impressed with the service too, the staff were attentive and we had a thoroughly good evening. We highly recommend this place.

And now it's excellent again 😁 The chowmein is particularly good 🤌 and the staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive. 2021 review: We've been going to this restaurant for years and it has always been amazing, but I think it recently changed management or something and now the food is completely different. The yuk sung now tastes of butter and the other dishes weren't as good as they were either 😞 Previous review: Fantastic! Great food, and loads of it. The starters of Yuk sung and sack pancakes were particularly tasty. Highly recommended.

The Vineyard has been under new management since March 2023 so we thought we'd give it a try We went for a family meal for eight people on 17 April. We were greeted and shown to a round table as I had requested. As we had a lot of catching up to do, we were quite slow at placing our order, but at no time did we feel hurried. We settled on 3 of the sharing platter starters with some salt and pepper chicken wings as well. All items were beautifully cooked and very tasty and nothing went back into the kitchen. We had a variety of main courses including; Sweet and sour chicken, tofu and pork, chicken chow main, chicken curry with a variety of rice dishes. The portions were very generous and again it was very tasty. The service was excellent with additional drinks ordered without us feeling hassled. All in all it was a great night with all of us complementing the food and the service and it came in at a good price of around £25 per head for two courses, coffees and drinks. We will definitely be returning.
