El Tapatio

We rarely have bad dining experiences here. Service is usually attentive and friendly. Food never takes too long and is always tasty! Love asking for the extra salsa options, which are delicious. I had the fish fajitas, and it was great! Never too loud, and both locations are both clean and beautifully decorated. I didn't leave five stars because it took a while to get drink refills and my significant other orders pork instead of beef (not a big deal because it was still tasty), but the waiter was apologetic and was dealing with a large party.

Place was busy on Mother's Day. We were given a 15 min wait time, but they seated us almost immediately. Staff was on point and service was great! Food was delicious! Atmosphere was fun and a little loud. I got the tropical fajitas that was served in a pineapple! It was a combination of chicken, beef and shrimp fajitas.

We dined in the food was good! It always is and our waiter was very personable however I asked twice for some lemons that I never did receive, they didn't ever check on our kids drink refills even with us sitting the empty glasses with lids off at edge of table finally we had to flag waiter down to get refills and one order had cheese which we had asked not to have added. Service not good. With that said when asked when paying out how was everything, I was honest and told them they were very apologetic and gave a discount. Mabe it was just an off day everyone has one from time to time we usually have no problem there.

Positives: the food was tasty and came out pretty quickly. The waitress was amazing. We had a table of 9 and without writing anything down she got the order entirely correct. She also kept our drinks filled and finished plates cleared. Negative: the whole place looked like it could use a deep clean. The chairs especially needed wiped down.

Food was okay . The problem was we were over charged our total was $40.45 . they brought the receipt out for me to sign and I hurried up and signed and left the tip and total amount blanked because my baby was crying , (I left a cash tip) and a few days later I noticed on my bank statement that we were charged $47.45 So I called and they told me I had left a $7 tip on card guessing the waiter wrote on my receipt and tipped himself. I wonder how money people he stole from.

They need more employees: the place could have been kept up better and to go orders could have been expedited. Very possible their kitchen staff is undermanned, but businesses being undermanned seems to be the norm these days. My recommendation to the wait staff would be to keep communication flowing between the staff and the customer. I understand that there's a culture to the business, but it's still a business. Cater more to your paying customers and they'll continue to feel valued and keep coming back. Otherwise, you may lose people to the nuances specific to your business. Tbf, I would not have turned down a free tequila shot, even if it wasn't top shelf. Would definitely feel valued at that point. 😉
