Walker Bros Original Pancake House

Finally checked out this restaurant after friends highly recommended it. I placed an order for pickup and got the busy dial tone a few times but nothing upsetting. I did have to wait for over 15 minutes for my food after I let them know I was outside. The food was great. The apple pancake was the star of the show. It’s quite decadent though so keep that in mind

Great apple pancakes! But the service with takeout was a disappointment and disaster. I was in West Chicago for work and thought I could bring home some food to share. I ordered 4 hot and 4 frozen apple pancakes to bring back to Michigan. I ordered over the phone and was told 15-20 minutes and just pull up front of the restaurant and they will bring the order out. After 30 minutes, I tried to call but the phone was busy, so I went in and inquired about the order. They told me the order obviously wasn’t ready yet. It was more than 10 minutes later that the food was finally ready. No apologies and the staff was very rude. We all want to support small and local businesses during CoVid, but I definitely expected more from Walker Brothers.

I absolutely love Walker Brothers. I am trying to continue ordering there but it just took 10 minutes for them to take my order over the phone just now at the Wilmette location. It was nothing complicated but it is honestly frustrating because she kept putting me on hold. You should really have an email so I don’t have to write a review that is public. The food is genuinely good but if The same person picks up the phone the next time I order I will not be ordering. Maybe someone else should answer the phones so your line isnt busy for long and you can get more orders in efficiently.

Outstanding start to finish. An unassuming exterior gives way to a classically finished wood interior. Minimal wait for a late breakfast, 10:00 on a Monday, but still completely full. The wait staff was great and then the food. From the buttermilk pancakes that my daughter loved to the eggs, hash browns, and homemade toast my wife enjoyed both were great. The best was my cinnamon apple pancake. Gave it a try and it was a home run! If you are not a big eater expect to take some home or split it with a friend. Will certainly return.
