Benny's Big Time Pizzeria

Benny’s is such an incredible space and great team working there. We have always felt welcome and the service has been incredible. To top it off they have Gluten Free in house made pizza dough. I cannot explain to you how amazing it was to have REAL DELICIOUS pizza. Not cauliflower crust not a cardboard nasty GF option. Real, delicious, well made crispy crust pizza. It’s the only food I truly missed when I was diagnosed with celiac’s so it’s such a joy when I found out about their dough!! Even if you don’t have an allergy you would LOVE it!! You can customize the pizza as well which is so great because I prefer an olive oil sauce over tomato based. I’m still dreaming about it because it was so good! All of their appetizers are great and the drinks are fun too! Overall our experience was so wonderful and we highly recommend it as a date night, celebration, or just a nice treat!

From the moment we walked in, we were catered to! Drew is phenomenal! He had incredible recommendations and sold us on the cesar salad with his profound knowledge. I don’t normally order a salad with my pizza but I am beyond impressed. I wanted to know how to make an espresso martini and he showed me step by step with enthusiasm, while also attending to other customers and never made me feel neglected. I will 100% be back!!

The pizza was so good! I don't usually eat crust and i ate all of mine. The ranch dressing is fantastic. Sam, our server, was very accommodating to my situation, as I am with child. He was happy to serve the raw honey on the side. I greatly appreciate his concern for all of us and especially that of my unborn child. 10/10 food and 10/10 service.

First time at Benny’s last night!!!!! Everything was freaking AHHHHMAZING!!!!!! Kellie took such good care of me and my bestie!!! The moment she greeted us, I knew we were gonna have an amazing night!!!! She’s so professional, personable, attentive, funny!!! 20/10!!!! Food and service was out of this world and everybody that works there is so nice!!! We kept asking Kellie and Andrea to take pictures of us, and they were so nice and patient!! Felt like we were all friends with them!!!! Top-tier customer service!!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!! Such a cute place and atmosphere!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

My daughter and I visited Benny's for the first time tonight. Everything was perfect. Our server and bartender Curtis was friendly and helpful and our drinks were wonderful. The caesar salad and pizza were delicious. During our visit, the manager stopped by to see if we needed anything, which we appreciated. We had a great experience and will definitely return to Benny's again.

Pizza is difficult to review because there are so many different styles. Some are:NY, Chicago, Detroit, Neapolitan, Sicilian, St. louis, Californian, Grandma, Bar and New Haven is also a style and the cook on it is unique. There are more but to many to list. So with that said Bennys pizza options are all Neapolitan with the exception of one Detroit style. The pizza is very good. It is made with quality ingredients, the environment is nice and the service has been great. The owner is often seen working cleaning tables and attending to guest. He is a super nice guy. I asked him to take a picture with my Mom because she is a fan of the tv show he was on and he could not have been more nice. There is a window that you can look through from the outside to watch the food preparation. It can get loud in the restaurant. The appetizers are good. The ranch is house made and different than typical but awesome. They make house made hot honey to use while dining and you can also buy a bottle to go. The salads and dressings are also great. The only reason I did not give a 5 star for the food is its not my favorite style of pizza but it is very good and a must try.

Are you looking for an amazing dining experience in Wilmington, NC? Well lemme tell you about Benny's Big Time Pizzeria. We were in line to get in at 5pm this past Friday. The line was about a dozen tables long, but we were seated immediately. As soon as we walked in we knew the place was special. The vibe was killer - the energy of the staff was so fun. In fact, Toto's song Africa was playing... my wife has a condition, where every time this song plays she has to sing it. So she was singing it and dancing as we walked to our table; and the hostess and some other servers were singing right along too! It was so fun. Danielle was our server. Is she the perfect server? Yes. She was amazing. Perfect, actually. Super friendly and genuinely seemed to care about us and our experience. Honestly, Big Benny's could have horrible food and we would still go back just to see Danielle again. Thank you, Danielle, you made our night! But the food isn't horrible. It's fantastic! We only got three items: Garlic knots, The margherita pizza and a cheese pizza. These are wood fired pizzas. The garlic knots were out of this world good; I've never had anything quite like them... they were so unique in their texture and the flavor was absolutely perfect (photo below). The accompanying sauce was incredible too. The pizzas were outstanding. The pizza is perfectly thin and supple, and the crust is nice and soft, but with that nice, crispy crunch you get in a wood fired pizza; so in other words, it's not an overly bready pizza. The cheeses and sauce and herbs were really great. Good wine and beer selection. We both had different red wines and they were really good and went well with our pies. We didn't get dessert, but the table next to us did and DANG, did it look good. We'll get dessert next time. Also, they have a really fun and wide range of pizzas; we're excited to try them all. I'm also excited to try their pasta dishes, too. A couple things that we experienced at Benny's that we've never experienced at any other restaurant that I just have to tell you about. First, somehow someone overheard us say that it was our first visit and so the manager came by and thanked us for coming and gave us a coupon for a free margherita pizza (photo below. It was such a sweet and simple gesture, but we appreciated it so much! It was so nice to feel appreciated and even kind of special for having chosen to dine at this restaurant. Another thing I noticed was the to-go box. Our server, the aforementioned and amazing Danielle, took our pizzas and put them in a box. The box came back, labeled and the top of the box was taped! It's a small thing, but that's so nice to have the box taped so it doesn't come open while we're carrying it or in transit around town. The other detail about the to-go box was how the pizza was placed in the box... check out the photo below: the pizzas are separated by wax paper! Even between the slices, the wax paper is folded up to prevent the pizzas from sticking together and to keep the flavors from melding together. What??? Amazing! Again, these are small details, but to me it shows that this is a place that cares about the details; both in their food and the customer experience. Everything about the atmosphere of the place, the staff and the food was perfect. I've been to some amazing restaurants all over the place like Asheville, Charlotte, NYC, Dallas, Orlando, Mexico City and other places and honestly, this is one of two (maybe three) restaurants I've been to in my 48 years on this planet that was perfect in every way. Well done, Benny's Big Time Pizzeria! To the owners and the entire staff: you should be proud of what you've all created. Thank you for sharing it with us! We'll be back soon.
