Gramp's Ice Cream And Diner

My family and I travel all over the country and love finding the little whole in the wall mom and pop places. We are currently living just north of Dallas and felt like finding something new to eat and randomly decided, after looking through Google maps, that this was the place to go today. And I'm glad we made that choice. The burgers were seasoned perfectly and wasnt under or over cooked. The meatloaf was the special and one of the best ive had hands down.. the ice for the sodas was like a sonic ice... the staff was super friendly and the property was so clean inside and out. They went out of their way to serve all their customers.. now on my top 5 favorite places in the country. I'll recommend this place to everyone.

New place that just opened Nov. 2016 right off Highway 70 (just past casino) going west from Lone Grove just 10 minutes away. It's right beside the school and tag agency. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have the usual burgers and their own hand cut fries plus made-to-order deli sandwiches, appetizers (including gizzards), salads, baked potatoes, and entrees (with daily specials). They also serve 32 flavors of ice cream and 9 soft-serve yogurt flavors, great for a hot summer day! We purchased the Granny Burger (1/4 lb) and a Club Sandwich. The burger was large and the hand cut fries were average, a little thick for my liking. The deli sandwich was huge (see photo) with delicious meats. Just wish they had other types of bread to choose from instead of just white. After our meal I got a salty caramel peanut ice cream cone (junior size), and it was average also. It had mostly vanilla ice cream and whole peanuts and I prefer more caramel, but it had a good flavor. The wait staff were very friendly (good down-home southern deli), and I would recommend a stop here on your way to "big-town" Ardmore and with the daily specials of catfish, sirloin steak, etc. you can't beat the inexpensive prices and good-size portions.
