Route 42

50's style. Pros: Quick service. Amazing wait staff. Nice portion sizes. Everything tasted great. Covid precautions in place. Cons: No coffee refill. Just one cup to nurse for the meal. My wife got a Coke that seemed to taste like a flat Pepsi. Huge watermark on the ceiling, smelt musty in that corner. Over all route 42 is a nice little place. We have not had a bad experience yet. Sure there are some cons, but not everything can be perfect everytime. Good price, good food.

Great little spot beside the airport. Airport is small and there is a vending machine…that sums of the cuisine at Windsor airport. Route 42 is a 6 min walk and has a great charm about it. Lovely staff and great food. Even if I don’t fly into Windsor again, I’ll def stop by this spot if I’m in town! Highly recommend!

Walked in on a Sunday with my son the gf and her daughter it was packed and I like the style of the place but the service sucks. Had to wait to be seat and tables had dirty dishes still on them. We finally sat down and they went and asked other people that came in what they would like , lol never even got asked wait 10 minutes just for coffee and they didn’t even serve it properly on the table just placed it and left . They were more worried about serving people then cleaning off the tables .

Waitress came to take out order, and mid ordering just left to help people at the door without saying anything. Then took two other tables orders before us. When we finally ordered and got our food, toast was extremely stale. They never brought my drink. They also never came for refills or to see how anything was. It's not even busy. There were 4 out of 10 tables in use near us

Overpriced, tiny portions, and terrible service. Went in a group of 6 for lunch and it took about 15 minutes for someone to even come to the table after we were sat to greet us and offer a drink. The server also seemed lost and confused the whole time. When the meals came out we were all thoroughly disappointed. They were tiny and anyone that had cheese it wasn’t even warm yet alone melted like it should have been (I have attached a picture of the grilled cheese... if you can call it that, and the home fries had chunks that were literally the size of an entire potato. Also, many items were missed and we had to remind the server about them for them to be made and brought out. Can confidently say it is not worth the hype in the slightest.

Worst experience ever! I asked for fried mushrooms and onions in my home fries, I got raw onions and mushrooms. My fiance ordered fish and chips and got soggy, burnt, refried French fries and burnt fish, and my sister in law pulled hair out of her omelette. The only thing the manager had to say was sorry you feel that way. We got up and walked out. Will never ever be back here nor will I ever recommend this place!

I want to here for my birthday breakfast with my twin brother and his fiancé who is a Red seal chef. We waited over an hour while everyone around us got their food. My twin brother got fish and chips and received refried soggy burnt fries and burnt fish. My brothers fiancé ordered to sunny side up eggs with hashbrowns topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, and received raw mushrooms and onions. I receive my meal which was an omelet and home fries and I pulled a hair from my food. We were absolutely disgusted with the food that we received. Never coming back again manager was very stuck up, and insincere.
