Deer + Almond

Had my brothers birthday dinner here this past Saturday and our whole family, young and old were impressed! The food was amazing! I am a seafood fanatic and there were many options that were all very different. So many flavors you would not think of putting together normally, but turned out to be delicious! Such a fan of this place. My drink (pictured) a martini with an earl grey reduction, nothing short of fabulous! The bar tender even came up to our table to make sure we were all satisfied with our drinks! Our server, Michael was energetic, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the different dishes. We all agreed when dinner was over that we loved him, even my dad loved him, who is incredibly hard to please! Cheers to Michael, the bartender, chef and rest of the staff! Keep doing what you’re doing!

Amazing food with very creative ideas combining popular Asian dishes with western influences. Flavours of the food were very nostalgic and reminded me of what I grew up with but with a subtle twist that transforms the experience. The staff and chef/owner were very friendly and provided a pleasant atmosphere.

Great service and staff. New set menu is very well thought out with a variety of flavors and textures. On the lighter side in terms on quantity but satisfactory for almost all but the most hungry of diners. Stuffed chicken wings and potatoes as extras were sizable and should be shared between 2-4 people.

Party of one, bar seating at 1700H I had the pleasure of dining in on my short visit to Winnipeg. Chef Mendel has a passion for flavors and it shows through each course. Each ingredient was executed intelligently while playfully elevating the star ingredient. Kieran (Kirin?) served up some aggressive cocktails. Highly recommend requesting for the bartender's choice. His service was memorable, great connection, and comfortable balance of space and presence. The synergy and trust in the house was well recieved, delivering a relaxed ambiance to savor the food through all senses. The next time I visit, I hope there's a table available.
