The Cornerstone Bar & Restaurant

Came for an early supper, drink special prices were decent. First impression was prices seemed cheap based on the menu descriptions. After food was brought to us, we can see why. Mac and Cheese portion was much larger than the fish. But both were fantastic. You are getting good tasting food and not breaking the bank. Service was good, decor is nice. We will definitely return.

Very good selection of draft beers. Charcuterie board was decent. Atmosphere was cozy and busy. No complaints about service. Update: came back for date night with hubby and it was just as good as I remembered. Great happy hour specials. Try the steak bites! Beer is ice cold, and good wine selection. I had the trout and lentils and both were perfectly cooked. My husband got the butter chicken, and he said it was okay. I tried their orange creme brulé and it was good. The reviews stays a 4 because our server was so professional and prompt.

Excellent service, good food. Overall visit was below expectation considering the recommendations and hype we've gotten from friends. Found the place exceptionally loud which made chatting with friends in our group nearly impossible. Our table would've appreciated being told of the extra charge for the 'garlic' aioli we were offered instead of finding out about it on the bill. KFC Banh Mi was good, and while the fried chicken was incredibly tender and juicy, it was also very under seasoned (as in no salt at all). The crunchy veggies were a nice contrast. The fries (which were highly recommended by friends) were overdone. The Reuben with kimchi tasted more like a regular Reuben but was still tasty. I think we'll try Cornerstone one more time, but maybe lunch is better than dinner as our friends who recommended Cornerstone have only been there during lunch.

It was my first time, there was a wait and while we all waited someone came out with little appetizers. Which were not only really really good but I thought offering us snacks was a lovely gesture. This place is definitely fancy and there for on the pricier side, that said it absolutely worth every dollar. It's beautiful, the staff is polite and the food and drinks are amazing. For sure going to be my fancy date place from now on. I recommend whatever specials they have that day.

Wow wow wow...Amazing Bartender, smiling, attentive, the whole nine yard.. The food was just the best.. I had the Ceviche and a Ban-mi fried chicken sandwich with pickled vegetables.. it was soooo tasty.. If you live in Winnipeg and you never been there .. Get your ass up and go eat at the Cornerstone.. Tonight (Wednesday) they have $10 off on Wine bottles ...
