The Roost On Corydon

This is one of our favourite spots in Winnipeg for either an afternoon or evening cocktail. In covid times, we did take-out dinner for 2. The steamed buns (chicken and Tofu) were delicious, well seasoned, and expertly balanced in flavor. We had Cauliflower and lentils, as well as braised beef short rib -- both were fantastic! Would highly recommend!

Excellent ambiance! Delicious drink and food! The steamed buns are delicious and i would recommend any of their cocktails! Pictured is the “travel bug” which was vegan, which i appreciated. They clearly display vegan options and vegan dishes and you can also opt to add non-vegan options to your food as well if you wish. The servers were all very polite and easygoing and a pleasure to be around!

Get a reservation if you can, but if you're lucky like us, you can get a spot right at the bar to watch the masterful work their bartrnder/mixologist/drink wizard. The line I overheard was "Cocktails is what they do [at the Roost]", and that is very true from our experience. Food we had was all amazing (Stuffed Olives, Mushroom Handpie, Fried Chicken Steam Bun, Roost Burger, and Sticky Toffee Pudding) and the atmosphere relaxed and fun. Everyone there clearly wants to be there, and you get that vibe as soon as you walk in. Go here. Eat, drink, and enjoy the experience.
