It's a shame what this buffet has become. Used to come here all the time with my family before the pandemic. Decided to try it out by myself tonight. Big mistake. Seemed to be a giant lack of communication everywhere. The server was just barely friendly and attentive enough. Some of the hot stuff was okay but almost everything else had this old taste to it like it's been left open for weeks or reheated ten times. At the entrance where they have the buffet menu displayed it said you get a complimentary drink with the purchase of a buffet but when I got my bill I noticed it was on there still. When I went to pay (after waiting for service) I mentioned it and the person at the till said oh we don't do that any more. He took it off after I politely said that it was still advertised on the sign and I will not be paying for it. Overall, not a good experience especially since the prices were raised. Would have done better with regular menu service.

My husband and I ordered a family Easter dinner for ten for pick up at 4pm. We got there shortly before 4pm. When we went in one couple was waiting for their order ahead of us. Initially no one was available to take our orders. During a ten minute wait two more couples showed up. Finally someone came out, gave a cold package to the first couple waiting and took our order. Another ten minutes goes by and we get our cold package to go with our dinner and the first couple gets their hot food. During this wait many unmasked people walked right past us from the lounge. Another ten minutes goes by during which two couples that came in after us both got served. We observed many staff standing around talking. We finally talked to the manager after 30 minutes of waiting and he told us that 20 people had ordered dinners for 4pm. As we were there before 4pm and only saw 3 other couples waiting we find this difficult to believe. The reason we ordered dinner for pickup was to avoid unmasked people as we have health issues, so we said we would wait outside for our order. By the time our order finally came out we had waited nearly 40 minutes. We would have been happy to pick up later but we were told 4pm was the latest pickup time. We do not foresee ordering from altos in the future.

Had a fantastic experience. All the staff were so friendly and polite. Our server may have been a little confused or undertrained; when he was giving us cups for water, he took cups from a table with people seated and eating (I wasn't too comfortable with that especially during the pandemic). I found that one of the cups he gave us already had a bit of water in it - good thing I checked (I really do not want to catch COVID). He was very apologetic and took cups from an unoccupied table. No biggie, though it could be for someone who gets sick. Experience overall was fantastic.

Do not eat here! Poorly managed and racist. Ethnics not welcome. I am Aboriginal from east coast New Brunswick. Sat with girlfriend for 30 minutes waiting for a waiter at the buffet. There were four or five waiters bussing tables and cleaning. No-one approached us. We could see the manager in the office staring us down. So I asked the chef at the buffet if I could get something to eat as we were hungry. He said yes. So I went and got some soup. Being a gentleman I brought her a bowl and myself a bowl. She wanted to wait for drinks before accessing the buffet. So I went and made a plate. When I returned none of the 4-5 servers had still not come yet. So we waited some more. She saw my broccoli and said it looked deliscious I said go ahead and eat it. She had one bite and the manager ran to our able accusing us of stealing. I argued with him and he said he was gonna go to his office and review the security cameras to charge us. I have money, I’ve ran restaurants in Montreal and Iqaluit Nunavut: I’ve never seen or been treated this poorly before nationally or internationally in any restaurant. I currently run a successful business here in Winnipeg where the aboriginal population is large. All I can conclude is that because of the social problems here in winnipeg the presence of a bar. In the hotel and alcohol vendor on site the manager assumed we were just some drunk Indians trying to steal food before even being asked if we’d like a drink or menu. I eventually called him a goof for his assumptions, where his response was to start attacking my character and degrade me verbally. He then turned bright red and looked as though he wanted to fight me over a piece of broccoli 🥦 and his lack of employee management skills. He then proceeded to have us almost physically removed by security! In front of everyone. How embarrassing. Please help make a difference in equality and co-existing relations on aboriginal territory. Do not support this establishment.

Went for mother's day brunch and was extremely underwhelmed. Most of the food was cold, the meats were all dry and tough to chew and the service was nonexistant. The coffee creamers had turned and we could not drink our coffee. We never told the server because she never came back to us until it was time to pay. What a waste of $207.....pffft What's the point in emailing you when you don't respond to those emails.

Tried their new Vegan burger. It was amazing. They cooked it exactly per my specifications and it arrived in a timely manor. Staff was extremely polite and quick. The second my glass was empty I was offered a refill. 10/10 would recommend to vegans/vegetarians or anyone. Their other burger are delicious as well.

Ordered a clubhouse and a drink for curbside in a time crunch, and felt myself blink when told the price. That was before knowing that fries were included, and canned drinks are usually overpriced at hotel eateries. And the fries were really something, close to a meal on their own. The sandwich was good if not a standout, I’ll be happy to try more menu items.
