Tindahan Food Mart

I always come here for cooked meals when I'm in Winnipeg. Very friendly staff. Not familiar where to get Filipino cooked food yet other than seafood city. The food is delicious. I have heard someone said that this place was once closed due to uncleanliness. I hope they have cleaned it properly now. It seems clean at the kitchen. Not very promising for the rest of the store though but it's all food to cook anyways. I hope this place gets checked frequently for people's safety.

Staff is much better now. I used to go here every few days cause I worked nearby. The kitchen staff were always rude. Talking about the customers just cause they assumed you don't understand what they were talking about. I came in one day for lunch and one of them had the audacity to say in tagalog, 'she's already fat, she doesn't need to be here all the time.' I walked away from the food they were preparing for me and didn't go back for years. Good to know they got rid of those trash.

Popped in here on a whim one evening. Walked out with soy sauce, fish sauce, kalamansi (tiny lemon-like fruit, described as better than lemons), some spice mixes for Philippino meat dishes, and some mangosteens (had to try after watching Somebody Feed Phil). The variety of sauces, condiments, frozen fish, and beef/pork cuts and parts was nearly overwhelming, in a good way. The clerk was extremely helpful and patient with my lack of knowledge about traditional dishes. Can't wait to come back to try the fresh hot food.

Great phillipino selection. Ranges from meat to junk food. Seeing old food I use to eat back home was quite nostalgic. A little bit pricey but for the nostalgic feel some might be willing to pay for certain items. Store is very clean with a hot food area in the side with a lot of selection. Even has a breakfast station for eating.
