La Carreta

I very rarely complain about anything, but the only redeeming quality this restaurant has to offer is DECENT, not great, just decent food. Service was absolutely terrible. My party waited well over 45 minutes in an almost empty restaurant for our food to arrive. Even then, most of our orders were wrong. No big. Just send it back. Well then we waited a good 20 more minutes. All the while most of us had empty drinks and had regularly ask for refills. If a server is busy, this is understandable and somewhat acceptable. If a server is no where to be found in a slow restaurant however, not in the slightest. I only give 2 stars because my meal was decent. I will NOT be back.

Today we went for lunch and assumed it would be good as in the past, though it's been a couple of years since we last went. We should have left after the chips cooked in old oil arrived. However, we stayed giving them a chance. My drink was left too long without a refill, and the meal was disgusting! My boyfriend isn't sure if the "grilled steak" was in fact meat from an animal or "grilled Steve's human meat"! It was salty and greasy as well. My boyfriend was feeling ill so he went out before me and the manager stood staring at me until I got up to pay like he thought I was going to dine and dash. Rude! It was certainly the worst $33 we've ever spent and the worst dining experience either of us have had! Needless to say we will not return! So disappointed in what they have become! *Side note...just noticed that they overcharged us by at least $5! Now I know that isn't much but still doing so by them is completely wrong!

Granted it's been over 12 years, but this used to be the place that me and my friends went to hang out. Now I don't even want to come back. The past few times I've gone, which has been few and far between, things have steadily gotten worse. I ordered a Raspberry Margarita and at first it tasted more like tomato juice than raspberry. There seemed to be very little alcohol, so much so that I questioned whether there was any at all. I have gone to other places and ordered a margarita and was able to tell there was alcohol in it almost right away. I ordered Enchilada Poblanos and the food was bland. The mole sauce didn't have any real flavor until the very end, and the salad was drier than I would expect with very little guacamole and no sour cream. The rice and beans were okay. The complimentary salsa and chips? The salsa had no heat or flavor, it was somewhat runny, almost watered down. The chips weren't hot, though they were a little warm atleast. Still, they went cold fast. I did eat everything because I was hungry, and because let's face it, if you have a basket of chips in front of you, you are going to eat them. The restaurant itself has very little lighting in it. The prices themselves were a little too high for my liking, I've gotten more food at a better price elsewhere. I won't be going back, and honestly? If you want good prices, better foods, and friendlier waitstaff? I'd go somewhere else.

Worst service, worst management. We went on a night where the sign said "free kids entree with purchase of adult entree". Plain and simple. I order something, my son gets a free meal. My wife orders something, my daughter gets a free meal. Sounds good until we get the bill and it shows we're charged for one of the kids. Over $6 but that's not what the problem is. It's the principal of what the sign said. The waitress said it's one child per table. The manager she was TEXTING, yes texting, said that's how it was. They were extremely rude. I will never go back there again and would recommend others boycott this particular one. There are too many Mexican food locations within three miles of that place, many of which taste the same, to have to ever go back to that one. Waste of money and time.

Service was poor. Very careless attidude from our server. Very over priced for what you get. Taco, burrito, chimichanga all come with only meet inside. That was a first experience for me. There was two others in the restaurant whom where finished eating yet it took at least 30minutes to get two plates of food. I sat with my water empty for half my dinner. Very bad experience over all. We will not be coming back.

only come because it's so close to my house but it is so awful and we regret coming every time. The service is AWFUL and the food is awful. The guy got an attitude when we asked to sit in a certain place and it took 15 minutes to get someone to walk by so we could just order another drink. Took 34 minutes to get our food and the place was EMPTY! If you have nothing else to do and extra money to blow then come on down but otherwise you'd be better driving 10 minutes to the other la carreta down the road which is awesome. Don't waste your time.
