Love the chocolate eclairs and the key lime pie ice cream! Highly recommend. There's almost always a moderate sized line because this place is deliciously popular! Staff is quick and extremely friendly. My favorite dessert place in Winston-Salem! (& If you visit Charlotte, check out Amélie's- they are similar)

The Dewey's Bakery Experience (Walk-in Edition). Dewey's is a stable in Winston Salem and legendary in my eyes as a top contender for tasty sweets. I have seen their transition of adding ice cream, other food items, and novelty products to their shop. Nevertheless, these added additions have caused disruptions in the flow of customers inside their establishment. If I want cookies or bread, I have to get out of the line and put myself in the back of the line once getting those things. Nevertheless, you are bound to walk out with multiple items when going to Dewey's. Under normal circumstances, I would go to Dewey's for cake squares, chest pies, or an éclair, but on this day, it was all about the Moravian cookies. I like their Ginger Spice, but they had sold out. So I purchased the Gingerbread and Meyer Lemon. The Gingerbread was ok, although the cookie was not as thin as the Lemon and the Ginger Spice cookies but tasted ok. The Lemon flavor was good. I will continue to go to Dewey's as I have since a child. However, I hope soon; management will reconsider their customer traffic flow when inside. It is a disservice to all of Dewey's great things inside their store at this location. You are overwhelmed with the smells and sites of ice cream and sweets; the small items such as bread, cookies, or novelties can go overlooked.

Dewey's always has amazing cakes. We made the mistake of getting cookie sandwiches while we waited for one of the awesome ladies there to finish the birthday cake we bought. They were delicious, and giant: Two huge chocolate chip cookies supporting ar least an inch of frosting between them. So. Much. Sugar! Dewey's is excellent. Service is great, the cakes are great. They are not cheap or inexpensive.

I I’ve been a customer of Deweys for 25 years. I went today. I bought 2 cream horns. They have half the cream they used to have and they cost twice as much. I bought the pink lemonade roll cake and it was stale. I should’ve stayed with the pink lemonade cake squares so far they have not been disappointing. This this may have been my last trip to Deweys. they are focusing more on the gifts and not the bakery.

I was excited to share Winston-Salem's famous Moravian cookies with a friend, so I bought one of their $28 gift tins which has like 100+ cookies in it. It ended up being an embarassing gift when my friend opened it to see a container full of broken thin cookies. Anyways, they're nice to munch on, but it was disappointing and felt like a waste of money.

i have always loved dewey’s bakery until i went in the other day and saw the manager ( i think her name is candy) speaking extremely disrespectfully to her employees. the girl helping me at the front was training and she was kind and thoughtful and candy was extremely rude and condescending to both me and her, which ruined my experience.

today i went into dewey’s to order some ice cream with my family and i had to leave without getting any ice cream because the manager Candy was yelling and making a huge scene. it was absolutely unacceptable and frankly disrespectful. i will not be coming back because it is not a family friendly place.
