Riptide Pizza

5/5 best experience I have ever had, amazing customer service. The girl who served me was just an absolute star. I ordered a half/half cheeky vegan and roast pumpkin and feta! One staff member gets a special mention Bek did an amazing job on the pizza absolutely fabulous but the whole staff gets 5 stars for their great work

I was really excited to try this pizza after seeing so many positive reviews. I am vegan and I was thrilled to see so many options. We are not local and were staying on the Coffs Coast, but we had to drive 30 minutes to Woolgoolga. We were given a pick up time 1.5 hours from when we placed the order, which seemed like a long time, but it was a Saturday night, so it was fine. When we arrived, they said it would be another 30 minutes. We asked why they were so behind, and they said they had gotten a big order that threw them off. My partner witnessed their interaction with another guest who had ordered online but somehow the order had never gone through. They produced 5 pizzas for this guest in about 20 minutes. In the meantime, we were still waiting. We went back in after the half hour and they said it would still be another 30 minutes and that they hadn't even started making the pizzas yet. We told them we wanted to cancel the order and have our money back. The person at the counter was going to refund me 2.40 less than what I paid and said that she couldn't refund the full amount. I said, "I didn't get the product I ordered, so I would like the full amount back." She told me it was an online order fee and that she couldn't do it. Then another person stepped in and said he would handle it. While he was sorting it, my partner said we'd ordered over 2 hours ago and we'd seen these other people get their pizzas rushed. They said "well they ordered before you, and we're only a half-hour behind" (keep in mind they'd just told us it would be ANOTHER 30 minutes). But by the time we'd gotten our pizza, who knows how long it would have been? They'd projected an hour late, but what's to say they wouldn't have said "oh it'll be 30 more minutes" again? It seemed like they were mostly teenagers working and so it seemed like they were lacking leadership which made me frustrated for them because they were left to manage a situation like that on their own. It was clear they were overwhelmed and didn't really know how to handle so many unhappy guests who were waiting for so long. The first girl apologised, but the other people we spoke with seemed rather defensive and rude. There was no recourse offered for the late pizzas, no "hey we know this is terrible but we're doing our best, we'll knock 10 bucks off the price etc." Again, I think this is down to poor leadership/management on that particular night, but if we hadn't asked for a refund and to cancel the order, we might still be waiting.

Delicious vegan pizza! We got half-and-half for $1.50 extra so that we could try two flavours (both delicious) then drove 2 minutes up the road to this gorgeous lookout. It was about $30 for a family (very large) pizza, which is about how much Dominos charges for their "good" pizzas, but the quality here is much better. Friendly staff also. Lots of vegan options, including dessert pizzas. I will definitely stop off here on my QLD to SYD drives in the future.
