Jimmy's Cafe

I've been coming here for 20+ years. Consistently excellent food at a great price point. The interior of the restaurant is starting to look very dated. Otherwise, an excellent value for what's offered. The green chili chicken chowder is among the finest foods I've had - and I've visited over 10,000 restaurants in my lifetime. It's a clear standout in the metro area with a great mix of American and New Mexican fare. While visiting ABQ I make it a point to stop in. I'm consistently annoyed they don't sell the soup by the gallon and ship it. Well priced for the value of the food offered. This is what Wecks wants to be yet fails miserably at achieving.

Jimmy’s is all about James, Jim, and Jimmy. There are pictures and posters of movies and everyone named James or some sort of nickname. The restaurant was bigger than expected. It was busy for a Tuesday morning around 9. I don’t know our servers name but she was super sweet and patient. Food was good quality and you could tell most of it was homemade, like the soup and green Chile. I have the Denver omelette, regular size. Good for an omelette. Hash browns were good but you can definitely taste the butter. It was a nice spot for a mid-week breakfast.

I have lived in Albuquerque a long time and never heard of this place. Was looking around on the map to find some local spots and decided to try it out today. This place was bustling! It was very busy but we got a table within the time frame given and the food was amazing. The service was wonderful and quick. The Jimbo club and the French Dip were wonderfully made with many selections of bread type and sides. Will definitely be going back to try the breakfast soon!
