Mannie's Restaurant

There is a reason an unpretentious restaurant like Mannie's has been around so long: people love it. It's comfort food at its finest, very tasty and generous portions. The service is prompt, competent, and very friendly. This morning I had their excellent corned beef with green chili. It was flavorful and meaty and had just enough spice to remind me why I enjoy New Mexico food. The home-made strawberry muffin that came with it was good, too, and huge. After having my fill, I took home plenty for breakfast tomorrow.

I enjoy breakfast here, which is wonderful since they will serve breakfast anytime. They have quite the varied menu. All delectable comfort foods. Even with the full menu, there are other choices. The menu even directs you to the breakfast specials card on the table. My last time there I opted for the Chicken Fried Breakfast Steak among the Breakfast Specials. Take my advise, if offered toast or muffin, go blue-corn muffin. It's not your typical cupcake style muffin. More like a mini-loaf of bread. Hot, warm, delicious. The coffee was great and the every-present staff always there to fill it. One day I will try the lunch options, but I haven't finished winding my way thru all the breakfast options that have piqued my attention. Don't have time to stay or want something on the menu for later? Every item is available for take-out.

Two friends and I went here for lunch. The chicken fried steaks with gravy and mashed potatoes were awesome! I love the large slices of thick buttery toast too. The place is super busy but we didn't wait long for anything. The dining area is kinda crowded and loud. Parking is a challenge here at times.
