El Patron

We tried El Patron for the first time to celebrate our 7th anniversary, and I would definitely recommend it! We ordered the Amazing Trio Fajitas for two and it was great! The shrimp and steak both had amazing flavor. We ordered some guacamole too and that was also delicious! I The only thing I can say is definitely get the corn tortillas! The flour ones taste like the cheapest ones at the grocery store. But we got half and half and it did taste a lot better with the corn ones. Over all though I was very impressed. The server was very polite and prompt and our food was out in no time! I do wish they had some spicier salsas, maybe a green one. I will be back here to explore more or the menu!

Everyone is very nice and polite! First time here 7/1/2022. Food was really good, from the chips and salsa to the guisada plate I had. The dos margarita was tasty! So was the Mexican candy shot. The waiter we had was very chill, nice guy and very attentive. Thank you for great food and great service!

My first experience was good, just had appetizer and drinks. Second experience the waitress was not attentive nor friendly. She brought out the qeso after being reminded several times and was cold. My third experience was so much better. Coincidentally had the same waitress as before. She was friendly and attentive this time. The food was great. I have never had a chicken quesadilla that actually had lots of chicken in it, they were perfectly made. Their drinks were perfectly refreshing.

Wonderful food, hospitality, seating, drinks, affordable for any price range. First time here. Won't be the last! They even had a scary situation (diners pulled out a 45 caliber gun at their party😲) Yet everyone remained calm and collective and professional. I wished I had taken a picture of the food as the presentation was spot on. From the chips and salsa (the salsa is superb! More garden natural flavor, not mass production) to the appetizer and main course, best quality and service in Amarillo at El Patron. I'm stuffed! The bar drinks are portion perfect. 😋 Tab was less than $90 for 2 people, with half being bar tab! including tip! We had a margarita pitcher shared with four shot drinks! (10 full glasses total!).

Was driving cross country and my GPS found a different Mexican restaurant but then I saw El Patron closer off the highway so stopped there instead. I'm glad I did! I saw the stuffed avocado on the menu and was intrigued. When I saw it was available with cheese and without meat (I'm a vegetarian), I was sold. OMG, this was one of the best Mexican meals I've ever tasted, and I'm a connoisseur of Mexican restaurants across the country. I have no idea what they do to this avocado but it was amazing. The rice and beans were also exceptional and the cheese enchiladas were also delicious. The service was prompt, attentive, and friendly, highly recommended. My only complaint is I can't get Mexican this good back home in PA! You should open a branch there or sell the stuffed avocado recipe 😀
