Rye

The Rye is a small, intimate restaurant offering organic, local foods. They serve very high quality dishes and have a broad bar menu. The chicken was the most tender and juicy I have ever had! The menu is limited so I recommend you take a peek before you go to ensure there is something on the menu you like, and that you are prepared for the prices as well.

We have been wanting to try Rye on College Ave for awhile and last night we did. We had 7:15 reservations and were seated shortly after. I had the muddled blueberry lavender martini and my husband had the mojito. Both delicious! We started with the Sauteed Whisky Bacon Shrimp, wow that was an amazing dish. From the sauce the shrimp was in to the herbs and smoky tomato confit, this did not disappoint! We also had the pepper crusted beef carpaccio with arugula, capers, truffle aioli and bellavitani cheese. Wow again! For the main course we ordered the filet of beef with smoked potatoes spinach and port wine demi. My husband ordered the sous vide New York strip steak with smoked baked potato and house horseradish sauce. Also delicious! We also ordered the truffle fries which were also amazing. This place may be a bit pricey and a limited menu but everything on it packs a big big punch! Our waiter Calum was amazing! We went for our anniversary so it was worth it. Definitely will go back!

This was no less than an amazing experience. The service was attentive and went out of there way to ensure you felt welcome. Specifically want to shout out Miya G! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the oysters (grilled and raw), tomato and burrata appetizer, scallop entree and sunny side up burger entree. Loved the scallops were cooked perfectly and the burger was superb. The presentation was 4 star. We have never been here before but will absolutely come back soon. Thank you Rye for a wonderful way to celebrate our engagement! Oh and how can we forget the cocktails. Highly recommend the old fashioned ❤️

We arrived and we promptly seated. Great service from the front of the house as well as the server. The food was very well prepared and presented. I ordered the pork schnitzel and it was fantastic. I was a big fan of the egg on top. We also had a rissoto at the table as well and that was rated very highly! The environment was awesome as well. It was a smaller restaurant, but the area we were seated still felt 'private'. The restaurant was a tad dark for reading the brown menus with black text, but not a huge issue. Overall a great experience in the Fox Valley.
